AICTE GATE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

AICTE GATE scholarship 2026 will be awarded only to those students who are admitted to the course with a valid score in the GATE 2026 exam at the time of admission. Any student who qualifies the GATE exam after the date of admission shall not be eligible for the scholarship grant. Therefore, before applying for AICTE GATE 2026 scholarship, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities. AICTE GATE 2026 Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Foreign students, sponsored candidates and candidates admitted in PG programs through management quota are not eligible for the Scholarship.
• Candidates must have a valid GATE 2026 score at the time of the admission. Admissions done before or after the GATE validity will not be accepted.
• Candidates admitted for part time courses will not be eligible.
• Candidates should have an Aadhar-linked general savings bank account with his/her name. Joint/Jan-Dhan/no-frill/transaction-limited accounts are not accepted.
• Creamy layer OBC candidates who have qualified under OBC category are not eligible for AICTE scholarship for GATE.
• Candidates qualified under SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped must upload a valid certificate to be eligible. Candiadtes who do not have an authentic certificate are not eligible.
• The GATE/GPAT scholarship will be disbursed for a maximum period of 24 month or till completion of courses/date of submission of thesis whichever is earlier.

How to apply for AICTE GATE Scholarship 2026

To avail the scholarship of AICTE GATE 2026, candidates will have to follow the given below procedure:

• Visit the official website and click on the link indicating "AICTE GATE Scholarship".
• Provide the requisite information and upload the documents on or before the deadline.
• The institute will then verify the data entered by the student and approve the scholarship.

Candidates have to upload the following scanned documents:

• GATE/GPAT score card 2026.
• PDF copy of the passbook.
• Aadhaar card(Students of J&K, Meghalaya and Assam are exempted).
• PDF copy of caste certificate.
• PDF copy of the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate in respect of only OBC candidates. Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) should not be old more than 1 year.

Key points to remember related to AICTE GATE Scholarship 2026

• The AICTE GATE Scholarship 2026 will be granted to the student every month, subject to satisfactory academic performance and adherence to the University/Institute norms/rules and regulations

• The scholarship will not be granted to passed-out students taking admission for the second time based on re-qualifying GATE 2026 exam who have already availed the scholarship from AICTE or any other Centrally funded Institution like – IITs, NITs, and IIITs etc.

• The candidates will be required to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the Institute which could include tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and development activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of Computers and other central facilities, assistance in library, etc.

• The scholarship is tenable for 24 months or for the duration of the course, i.e. from the date of commencement of classes till the date of completion of the classes, whichever is lower and is not extendable under any circumstances.

• The Scholarship may be discontinued at any time for any kind of misconduct by the student, like involvement in the act of ragging, misbehavior etc.

• The rates of PG Scholarship is subject to change as per the notification issued by the Department of Higher Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi from time to time with the approval of the Executive Committee of the Council.

• The mode and procedure of payment of scholarship to the students shall be governed by the policy decision of the AICTE as may be notified from time to time on its web-portal or through advertisement in leading English/Hindi newspapers.
