Kerala LET 2019: The application forms for Kerala LET 2019 admissions were released in online mode only on March 29. Candidates who want to take admissions in UG engineering course have to fill the online application form and pay the application fees on or before May 8 (extended). The Director of Technical Education, Kerala has released information and guidelines for lateral entry admissions or Kerala LET 2019 admission on March 20. The Kerala lateral entry admissions are intended to admit meritorious diploma students directly into the second year course of engineering degree. The DTE Kerala will conduct a common admission test for Kerala LET on June 15 for offering admissions in UG engineering courses. Students of diploma courses who aspire to take admission will have to fill the application form of Kerala LET 2019 and qualify the admission test. Seats will be allotted to qualified students in the order of merit and the availability of seats in all the participating institutes situated in Kerala.

The seats of colleges offering admissions through lateral entry has also been increased by 20% to give students more chances of admission. Students who have passed the diploma course or will be appearing in the final year exam from an institute are eligible to apply for Kerala LET 2019 admissions. Students will be required to fill their choice online and seats will be allocated through a centralised counselling round. Kerala LET 2019 Eligibility Criteria: Students who want to take admission in UG engineering course through lateral entry scheme must meet the below-mentioned criteria

  • Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the final year of their 3-year diploma engineering courses are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are appearing in their final year exam are provisionally eligible for appearing subjected to the condition that such candidate must submit details of final year exam at the time of admission.
  • Candidates with a maximum age of 30 years at the time of admission are eligible to apply
  • Candidates from Kerala as well as from other states are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have passed their diploma course from the state other than Kerala will be considered for admission only in private self-financing institutes and non-government seats in government-controlled colleges.
  • Candidates who have passed diploma in Engineering/Technology from any state board of Technical Education or Institutions under Govt. of India with at least 45% marks (42% for SEBC and OEC category and 40% for SC/ST category)
  • Candidates who have passed D.Voc stream and allied sector in Engineering/Technology from any state board of Technical Education or Institutions under Govt. of India with at least 45% marks (42% for SEBC & OEC category and 40% for SC/ST category)
  • Candidates who have passed B.Sc degree with Mathematics as their main subject from a recognized university with at least 45% marks (42% for SEBC and OEC category and 40% for SC/ST category) and passed 12th class exam with Mathematics as a subject.

Kerala LET 2019 Admission Process: Students who wish to take admission in engineering degree courses through lateral entry can find below the detailed step by step process admission process.

Online Registration and application form filling: Students have to visit the official website of DTE Kerala for filling the application forms. The application form has to be filled in online mode only. Students have to enter the basic details like name, family details, address for communication, educational details and option of the branch for which admission is desired. Candidate should fill the form with utmost care as any incorrect information correctly could lead to cancellation of form and no modification can be made after the submission of application form.


Payment of Application Fees: Students who have successfully filled the application form have to deposit the requisite fee. Application fees have to be deposited by e-Challan by visiting any branch of SBI Bank. The fee has to be deposited in Shakti Account of The Joint Controller of Technical Examination, Kerala. Submission of Application Form: Students have to send a copy of their online submitted application form and the e-challan copy of fees paid at the bank along with the xerox copies of all necessary documents as asked by the authority. The student can find below the complete list of documents which has to be enclosed along with the application form

  • Class 10 and 12 certificate and mark sheets

  • Diploma engineering certificate and mark sheet

  • Community certificate for candidates claiming reservation

  • Income certificate of parents

  • Domicile certificate

Candidates should enclose one xerox copy of each of the documents mentioned above and send it to below mentioned address by registered/speed post along with application form and challan copy of fees. Candidates should mention “LET (B.Tech) 2019” on the envelope.

Kerala LET 2019 Admit Card

The Director of Technical Education will release admit card of Kerala LET 2019 from June 10 to June 14. Admit cards will be released in online mode only. Students who will fill the application form will be able to download their admit card from the official website of Kerala LET 2019 admissions for which the link will be provided here once it is released.


Kerala LET 2019 Entrance Examination

The examination of Kerala LET 2019 will be held on June 15 across various test centres in the state. The examination will be held in offline mode in OMR based test. The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours and will comprise questions from first-year B.Tech course and English language. The detailed test pattern is discussed below


Kerala LET 2019 Exam Pattern

The offline examination for LET admission will comprise the questions from the subjects based on the educational qualification. The Entrance Test has two sections ie, Part A for Diploma candidates & D Voc stream candidates and Part B for B.Sc stream candidates. There will be 3 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Any override or inappropriate mark in the OMR response sheet will lead to cancellation of response. The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours carrying a total of 120 questions with a maximum mark of 360.

Kerala LET Result 2019

The DTE, Kerala will release the result of the entrance examination on June 26. The result will be announced in online mode. Students can check their result by visiting the official page for which the link will be provided here after the announcement of result. Students will also be able to download their scorecard after the announcement of the result. Answer keys to the question papers will also be released by the authority however no provision for rechecking of answer script challenging the answer key has been made. A rank list will be prepared of all the qualified candidates on the basis of marks secured by them in the entrance examination. The LET admissions will be made on the basis of the rank list.


Kerala LET Rank List 2019

DTE Kerala will prepare a common rank list on the basis of students performance in the entrance examination. Rank list will be prepared in the order of marks secured by the candidate. The candidate has to secure a minimum of 15% marks for General category, 12% for SEBC and 10% for SC/ST category candidates in order to stand to qualify and make it to the rank list. In case of a tie, the mark of the candidate in Mathematics will be taken into account. If a tie still exists, marks of English shall be considered and the age of candidate will be considered in any subsequent consideration of the rank list. Admission in all the participating institutions will be offered on the basis of this rank list.


Online choice filling and seat allotment

Students will have to enter their choices for seat allotment after the declaration of results. All the students who have qualified in the test will be allowed to fill the choices in the online choice filling portal for which the link will be provided here as soon as it is opened by the official authority. Students will have to fill their choices of college and branch in order of preference and lock them within the specified time and date.


Seats will be allotted by the authority in the order of merit on the basis of preferences filled, availability of seats and category of candidates. Students who will be allotted a seat will have to report to the allotted institute within the specified date and time and complete the further admission process like depositing the fees and submitting all the required documents as asked by the institute.

There will be three subsequent rounds of counselling for admitting students into all the participating institutes. Students who will be allotted a seat in the first round and accepts the seat will have to cancel all the remaining choices filled during choice filling. However, students who do not get any seat will have to modify their choices before the second and third round of seat allotment process.

Spot Round Counselling: Seats which remain vacant after all the three round of counselling will be filled through a spot counselling round. The management will be admitting students in spot round from the common merit list in the order of merit.
