CEE Kerala will follow the normalisation formula with 50:50 weightage for the KEAM 2026 exam. A normalised score in KEAM 2026 is the adjusted score obtained after the normalisation formula is applied. Which means the KEAM raw score of 600 will be used to prepare the final engineering rank. Candidates’ raw scores across the KEAM 2026 exam shifts will be normalised via the percentile‑based statistical method. The normalised score is used to index the 600 marks to the scale of 300, and adds the Class 12 PCM marks to prepare the final marks. The KEAM 2026 result was out on May 12, 2026.

Admission to KEAM engineering college is based on the merit evaluated by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the KEAM examination score and marks in Class 12 PCM with subjects including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. However, if candidates have not studied Chemistry in Class 12, Computer Science marks will be taken. If both subjects are not studied, Biotechnology marks will be considered, and Biology marks will be taken if the latter subject is not studied in Class 12.

CEE Kerala conducts the KEAM exam across multiple sessions. To avoid any unfairness to students, the normalisation distribution process is used so that the marks are adjusted across the shifts. The normalisation formula is applied to the KEAM total score. Check the normalisation formula which has three steps
Step 1: First, the raw marks are converted to percentile scores for each KEAM exam session separately.

Step 2: Next, the converted scores are calculated for other sessions using the given formula.

Step 3: Finally, the normalised scores are calculated for each student participating in the KEAM exam session and shifts.

Check the KEAM 2026 marking scheme below.
For every correct answer, 4 marks will be given.
For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
There is no negative marking if the question is not attempted by the candidate.
If two answers are marked in the OMR sheet, then the negative marking will be applicable, and 1 mark will be deducted as per the negative marking scheme of KEAM.
As per the expected KEAM 2024 Marks vs Rank, a score of 550+ out of 600 is equivalent to 900+ marks out of 960 and can fetch a rank between 1 and 5,000. Check the expected KEAM marks vs the rank based on the latest trends.
