5:45 PM: The JEE Advanced 2024 cut-off percentile for general candidates is from 100 to 93.23632181 and a total of 97351 candidates have qualified.

5:00 PM: Candidates who are in the top 2.5 lakh ranks in the JEE Main 2024 exam of both session 1 and 2 will be eligible to attempt the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.

4:30 PM: After the declaration of the JEE Mains result 2024, the qualified candidates can appear for JEE Advanced 2024 exam or can directly appear for JOSAA Counselling.

3:00 PM: NTA considers the CRL rank for the candidates belonging to General category rank for JEE counselling. For the candidates belonging to national list of OBC-NCL/SC/ST their respective category rank is considered for counselling.

2:30 PM: There was negative marking in JEE Main 2024 as per which one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. JEE Mains result 2024 for session 2 was calculated using the same marking scheme.

1:45 PM: JEE Main 2024 session 2 was held from April 4 to 12. Candidates could appear for both the session of the JEE Main 2024 exam.

The National Testing Agency has declared the IIT JEE Mains result 2024 for session 2 in online mode. Below are the simple steps that candidates should follow to check the JEE Mains 2024 result.   • Click on ‘View JEE Main 2024 result’ or ‘View score card’.
  • Enter the application number and date of birth.
  • No, click on "Submit".
  • The complete NTA JEE Main result 2024 along with scores will appear on the screen.
  • Take the print of the JEE result page and save it for future reference.

NTA JEE Main Result 2024 - Normalization Process

Because the JEE Main exam is conducted in different sessions, the level of difficulty also varies, and to deal with this, authorities will use the process of normalization. NTA releases the normalized JEE Main 2024 scores to indicate the percentage of candidates whose scores are equal to or below the scores of the candidate who scored the highest in that particular session. The formula used for the calculation of NTA scores is shown below:

Formula - (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session

Candidates may note that the normalized NTA score is not the same as that of the percentage of marks obtained in the examination.

JEE Main Result 2024 - Percentile Calculation

The National Testing Agency calculates the scores of JEE Main 2024 for percentile for individual subjects separately (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as well as in the combined format using the normalization formula as shown below.

There are times when two or more candidates get the same NTA score in JEE Main result. Hence, to offer a unique All India rank, NTA follows the tie-breaking criteria in the result of JEE Main 2024. National Testing Agency (NTA) will not entertain any request for re-evaluation/re-checking of the NTA JEE Main result 2024. The scores obtained by candidates in the results of JEE Main 2024 will be considered final.

Difference between JEE Main percentage and percentile score

When it comes to the JEE Main 2024 percentage and percentile, many students get confused and take them in common, while they are totally two different aspects. The JEE Main percentage is the result of absolute marking while the percentile is calculated through relative marking.

If we look at previous years trends, then having a percentile of 98.6 in JEE Main means you won't be able to get admission to IIIT Bangalore for Integrated MTech in either CSE or ECE. The cutoff of IIT Bangalore go very high and you must me among the top students to get admission there.
