IPU CET 2018 – Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will conduct the spot round of counselling of IPU CET 2018 from August 1 to 7 in offline mode. Earlier, authorites had announced the result of sliding round of seat allotment in online mode. Candidates could able to check their allotment status through login. IPU CET 2018 entrance exam was conducted on May 13 for B.Tech, whereas the B.Tech (biotechnology) entrance exam was held on May 19. The online application form of IPU CET was available till May 1, 2018. The application fee of Rs. 1000 was to be paid online. The spot round of counselling of IPU CET 2018 will be conducted from August 1 to 7. The sliding round of seat allotment for IPU CET 2018 has been concluded on July 24. Candidates could check their seat allotment result by logging in. The result of IPU CET 2018 seat allotment for round 1, 2 and 3 was announced on June 30, July 10 and July 15 respectively. The registration for IPU CET 2018 counselling started from June 14 in online mode. The counselling of IPU CET 2018 is being conducted in multiple rounds and includes steps like registration, choice filling and locking, payment of admission fee and reporting at the allotted institute. If there are seats left after online counselling rounds, a SPOT round would also be held. To register for IPU CET 2018 counselling, candidates had to pay the registration fee of Rs 1000 (excluding bank charges), enter IPU CET details like roll number, and date of birth. The fee payment could be made online (Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card) or through cash payment (challan). The candidate could proceed with the registration only after successful receipt of the counselling participation fee. If payment was made using challan, candidates could register only after two working days after they deposit fee. The choice filling is a mandatory part of the IPU CET 2018 counselling process; candidates who don’t fill any choices will not be considered for IPU CET seat allotment.
Seat allotment of IPU CET 2018 is based on merit, with candidates listed higher in the IPU CET 2018 merit list getting preference over lower ranked candidates. Allotment of seats is made at the end of each counselling round, and candidates will have the option to freeze the offered seat, slide or float in the earlier rounds.
The result of IPU CET 2018 for B.Tech was announced on May 23, 2018, and for B.Tech Bio-Tech was declared on May 27. The result of IPU CET 2018 has been released in the form of a rank list that is available for download. The IPU CET result 2018 displays roll number, name, region, category and rank of the candidates who have appeared for the exam. Based on the result of IPU CET 2018, candidates would be shortlisted and called for counselling.

The authorities have released the IPU CET 2018 cutoff, The cutoff is generally determined by the university to screen the admissions. The opening and closing ranks for each college and course can be gauged with the help of the cutoff of IPU CET. The various factors that are used to calculate the cutoffs are the number of applicants, seats available, difficulty levels of the exam and the past year cutoffs.

The application form of IPU CET 2018 was released in online mode. The last date for filling the application form of IPU CET 2018 for B.Tech and B.Tech in Biotech was May 1, 2018. When filling the form, the candidate must ensure to enter the correct CET Code; for example, CET Code for B.Tech and B.Tech (Technology) are different. The codes may also differ depending on whether the candidate is desirous of fresh admission or lateral admission. Also, only genuine information must be used to fill the IPU CET 2018 application form by following the prescribed guidelines and format. For example, candidates must enter their name in capital letters as displayed in Class X or equivalent certificate. The application process also includes upload of a recent photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression. The maximum file size allowed for upload is 80 kb and the file format should be JPEG or GIF. It is mandatory to fill all marked fields in the IPU CET application form 2018.
IPU CET 2018 application form was made up of the following sections:
General Information: This section includes information related to:
- Applicant’s name
- Date of Birth
- Mailing Address - Address Line 1. (Address Line 2 is Optional)
Academic Qualification (s): In this section, the candidate had to enter details related to Qualifying exams passed, year of passing, and percentage of marks obtained. In case of candidate’s option for B.Arch. courses, it was mandatory to enter NATA score as well.
Agree to the terms and conditions: The candidate had to agree to the guidelines outlined in the declaration form.
Confirmation of details entered: The candidate had to confirm the details entered and also enter the special characters displayed on the screen. Upon completion of the process, log-in ID and password was generated.
Log-in to fill Course Application
The candidate continued with filling the application form if he/she was still logged in; or else, the candidate could log in using system generated log-in credentials. The Course Application form was a partially filled form (like it contains your name, category, email ID etc). Candidates had to pick their course of study and make the payment to complete the application process.
IPU CET 2018 Application Fee: The application fee of Rs. 1000 could be paid in online mode through credit card/debit card/net banking.
Corrections in the IPU CET Application Form 2018
If post submission of the application form, the candidate realisedhe/she has wrongly filled some data, there was the option of submitting an alternate physical application form with the correct details. Along with the application, the candidate had to pay the applicable application fee of Rs. 500. It had to be noted, though, that the option was available only for last five days, prior to the application submission deadline.
Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses at GGSIPU must meet the eligibility criteria of IPU CET 2018 that are listed below:
Must have passed the class 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognised central or state board or any equivalent exam.
The candidate must have obtained a minimum of aggregate 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, and have passed each of these subjects separately.
The candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective or functional).
- Candidates appearing for Class 12 in 2018 are also eligible to apply.
How to Prepare for IPU CET 2018
Candidates planning to appear in IPU CET 2018 need to start their preparation in advance because they can devote time to build concepts. With strong basics, things become that much easier. Also, the candidate needs to have a proper strategy in place -like making time for doing revision and solving sample papers. The candidate must know what topics are covered in the exam, types of questions asked and marking scheme. It will provide the candidate with a clear goal to focus on.
The question paper of IPU CET 2018 was set in English and was conducted be pen-and-paper mode. During the exam, candidates was provided OMR answer sheets where responses have to marked by darkening ovals. Use of pencil was not allowed and candidates were asked to bring a black ballpoint pen to the examination hall.

The syllabus of IPU CET 2018 was set as per the 10+2 Board syllabus or its equivalent. Candidates preparing for their board exams, therefore, can easily sit for the exam. The question paper of IPU CET 2018 included three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section carried equal weightage. Also for preparation, it is recommended that the candidates use NCERT books because they are among the best for building concepts and have enough problem sets for practice.

There were 15 exam centres where IPU CET 2018 was likely held. The final number was depend on the availability of the sufficient number of candidates opting for a particular centre. In such a scenario where both the options picked by the candidate has been dropped due to lack of sufficient candidates, such candidates were allotted “Delhi” centre as a default option.
The admit card of IPU CET 2018 was available from May 7 for B.Tech and on May 14, 2018 for B.Tech in Biotechnology. To download the IPU CET 2018 admit card, candidates have to log in using their log-in ID and password generated at the time of online registration. The IPU CET 2018 admit card carried details like the name of the candidate, roll number, date and time of the exam and also signature and photograph of the candidate. Before downloading the IPU CET admit card 2018, the candidate was advised to ensure that all the details are correct.
