Careers360: Briefly tell us about yourself and your course of study at NIET Greater Noida.
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: I am Vibhanshu Chaudhary; a B. Tech graduate in Computer Science & Engineering from the 2016 batch of NIET Greater Noida. I currently work as a Lead Consultant at ITC Infotech and have around nine years of experience in the IT industry.
Careers360: What made you interested in choosing NIET Greater Noida as your alma mater?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: NIET had a strong reputation for placements, experienced faculty, and quality technical education. Since my elder sister had already graduated from NIET, I was familiar with the academic environment and positive culture of the institution, which made my decision much easier.
Careers360: NIET Greater Noida campus life is Learning, Fun & Growth. What is your thought on this?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: I completely agree with this statement. NIET provided an environment where learning extended beyond classrooms. Students had opportunities to participate in technical communities, cultural activities, leadership roles, and various events that contributed to both personal and professional growth. My own journey as the founder of the NIET Firefox Club is an example of how the institution encourages students to explore their interests.
Careers360: Did you have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: Yes. I actively participated in technical activities and organised numerous workshops and technical events. I founded the NIET Firefox Club and represented Mozilla as a Mozilla Representative and Regional Ambassador Leader, where I led community initiatives across the NCR region. These experiences significantly enhanced my leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Careers360: How would you describe the support provided by faculty, mentors, and peers?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: The faculty members were extremely supportive and approachable. They always encouraged students to ask questions, explore beyond the syllabus, and participate in technical initiatives. Their guidance helped me grow both academically and professionally.
Careers360: Could you describe what a typical day looked like for you at the NIET campus?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: As a day scholar, my day usually started with lectures and practical labs, followed by spending time in the department preparing for projects or organising technical activities. During my final years, a significant part of my day was dedicated to Mozilla community events, planning workshops, and collaborating with fellow students. Every day offered opportunities to learn something new.
Careers360: How does the diversity within the student community enrich collaborative learning among peers?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: Students from different backgrounds bring unique ideas, perspectives, and approaches to solving problems. Working with diverse teams improved my communication skills, broadened my thinking, and prepared me for the collaborative work culture that exists in today’s global IT industry.
Careers360: How safe and supportive is the campus environment for students?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: I always found the campus to be safe, welcoming, and student-friendly. The faculty and administration were approachable whenever students required academic or personal guidance, creating an environment where everyone could focus on learning and development.
Careers360: In what ways has the campus experience at NIET Greater Noida contributed to your development as an individual?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: NIET helped me evolve from a student who was primarily focused on academics into someone who could confidently lead teams, organise events, communicate effectively, and take ownership of responsibilities. These experiences have contributed significantly to my professional growth and leadership journey.
Careers360: What advice would you give freshmen on making the most of their time on campus?
Vibhanshu Chaudhary: Make the most of every opportunity that college offers. Build strong technical fundamentals, improve your communication skills, participate in hackathons and technical communities, interact with seniors and alumni, and don’t hesitate to take up leadership roles. At the same time, enjoy your college life, build meaningful relationships, and create memories because these years will shape your future in many ways.
