Children of Central Government Employees not domicile of Tamil Nadu can apply provided their parents are serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years.
Children of persons (not domicile of Tamil Nadu) employed in Private or Public or Government recognised Institutions continuously for the past 5 years.
Other State candidates with schooling in Tamil Nadu from IX Std. onwards need not enclose “Certificate of Permanent Residence”. They will be eligible for Open Competition only.

Candidates will be able to apply for Tamil Nadu Polytechnic admission 2020 in both online and offline mode. Step 1: Online Registration - In the first step, candidates will have to register by entering basic details like name, gender, mobile number and email ID. Once, the candidates complete their registration, an application number and password will be sent to their registered mobile number and email ID.
Step 2: Filling of Application Form & Uploading of Documents- In next step, candidates will have to enter other required details of the form like their personal and academic details. After this, candidates will have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature as per the specifications prescribed by the authorities.

In case two or more candidates have the same marks in the qualifying exam, then following rule is considered to determine the rank of such candidates.
Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be given higher rank.
If a tie still persists, candidates with higher marks in Science will be given higher rank.
If a tie still persists, candidates with higher total marks in Mathematics and English will be given higher rank.
If a tie still persists, candidates with higher total marks in Science and English will be given higher rank.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of Tamil Nadu Polytechnic merit list 2020 will be called for the counselling and seat allotment process.
