The Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru retained its 2nd position in the Overall Category of India Rankings 2024 for the sixth consecutive year, i.e. from 2019 to 2024. IISc was ranked at 1st position in the Overall Category of India Rankings in 2017 and 2018.

Every year, the Ministry of Education assesses institutions based on multiple parameters including teaching, research, graduation outcome and more. Hope you are doing well ! Yes you can change your category but in this case after the exam when the result comes you may difficulty as you will get two different results and two different ranks . So do accordingly. But yes change is possible. Also Candidates are allowed to change their city preferences along with the medium in which they want to take the JEE Main 2025 exam.

There is separate minority list of central government and state government.The central list of OBCs is available on the NCBC website. You can check from there.
Moreover If a candidate who doesn't fall under castes recognised as SC/ST/OBC by the Govt. of India & doesn't avail any form of reservations (except horizontal reservations like ExS, PwD, etc.) & his/her annual family income is above the prescribed limit of 8 lakhs by Government of India (or as prescribed by state govt in the respective states), then he/she will be recognised as a candidate from General category and not from EWS category.

As a Shaikh Muslim falling under the BCE category in Telangana, you may face challenges in obtaining an OBC-NCL certificate. However, you can try to use your BCE certificate under the OBC-NCL category for JEE Mains, but it's essential to note that this is subject to verification and approval by the JEE authorities.
According to the Central List of OBCs, the BCE category is not explicitly mentioned. However, Telangana state has its own list of backward classes, which includes the BCE category. To use your BCE certificate, you'll need to provide a certificate from the competent authority in Telangana, stating that the BCE category is equivalent to the OBC-NCL category.
JEE Main exam is conducted multiple times in a year, and candidates can choose to appear for any or all of the sessions. The best score out of the sessions you appear for is considered for ranking and admission purposes. If you haven't take session first its ok you can register and appear for second session without taking JEE mains session 1 exam.
You can choose to take only the first session, or you can choose to appear for subsequent sessions if you believe you can improve your score.

You have two options to change your category from general to EWS category one is to change it through correction window of JEE mains which will open on 26,27 November.
Second is,During the second attempt JEE Main registration, you can modify your personal details including your category. To make the change, you will have to log in to your JEE Main account, make the necessary changes, and submit the updated information.
By this way you can get admission to college through EWS category reservation.
