JEE Main 2026 Application Requirements & Process To Fill - NTA concluded the session 1 JEE Main 2026 application form filling process on November 27, 2025. Candidates should be aware of the revised JEE Main application requirements for sucessfully submiting the form. The authority had released the JEE Main application requirements 2026 along with the information brochure at jeemain.nta.nic.in. While applying for the JEE Main 2026 exam, candidates had to fill in their Class 11 board registration number. Candidates will be able to rectify any errors in the application form during the JEE Main 2026 form correction on December 1 & 2, 2025. NTA has mandated that candidates had to now fill in their Class 11 board registration number while filling up the JEE Main application form. This step is being implemented to ensure that there is no clash between the JEE Main 2026 exam and the class 12 CBSE exams. Hence, it can be expected that the authority will allot the exam dates to the candidates to avoid the clash with the Class 12th exam.
NTA had issued an advisory urging all applicants to update their Aadhar card as well as their UDID and category certificate, if applicable. The Aadhar card must be updated as per the candidate’s 10th class details. Candidates must also update their latest photograph, address and father's name.
NTA published the JEE Main 2026 eligibility on the official website. Along with the eligibility criteria, the authority also published the list of required documents. The basic eligibility requirements for the JEE Main application are
Students should have passed the 12th class or qualified for the exam in 2025 or 2026 in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/and Technical Vocational Subjects.
Candidates who have passed the class 12 or are in equivalent examination in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026, can apply for the JEE Main exam.
There is no age limit for candidates to apply for the JEE Main exam.
NTA conducted the JEE Main 2026 registration for session 1 in online mode. The JEE Main registration link was active till November 27, 2025. The brief overview of the JEE Main 2026 application process is given below

Personal and academic details of the candidate must be entered in the application form.
Once the details are entered, candidates must capture a live photo, upload the scanned copies of the required documents, photo, signature, class 10th marksheet and identity proof (if not using Adhaar or DIgilocker). The prescribed fee must also be paid.
Once the application is submitted successfully, candidates must save the confirmation page for future reference.
NTA also allows candidates to edit their application form after registration. The dates for the JEE Main 2026 application form correction have been announced by the authority online, which are December 1 and 2, 2025.

NIOS is recognized for Maharashtra admissions.
Mathematics was passed before the admission year.
You are not eligible if:
Mathematics is not shown as a passed subject.

Mathematics must be a separate and passed subject.
Keep both marksheets during counselling.

The marks needed for a 99+ percentile in the JEE Main January attempt depend on the difficulty of the paper and the total number of candidates. Generally, you need roughly *180–200* marks out of 300 to hit the 99+ percentile. The exact cutoff varies each session, so checking the official NTA percentile score calculator or previous year cutoffs gives a more precise idea.

JEE Main accepts NIOS, so you can appear if you meet the basic eligibility.
BITS does not accept marks from two different boards, so this option won’t work for BITS.
VIT and SRM generally accept NIOS, but having two separate mark sheets can be an issue. You should check their official eligibility rules before applying.
