Hello,

Congratulations on your son's success for his excellent performance in 10th standard.Biomedical Engineering is a  growing field that combines engineering principles with medical and biological sciences to improve healthcare technology, such as medical devices, diagnostics, and artificial organs. The future prospects for biomedical engineering are bright, especially with advancements in healthcare, biotechnology,

For admission to VIT Vellore in B.Tech Biomedical Engineering, students need to appear for VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination), conducted by the university itself. The exam is usually held in April every year, and the application forms are released around November–December. Since your son has just entered Class 11, he should focus on strengthening his Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) foundation, along with preparation for VITEEE and JEE Main for broader opportunities. Being residents of Mumbai does not affect eligibility; admission is purely based on VITEEE performance for general category students.

Encourage your son to stay consistent in his preparation. Apart from VIT, also keep options open like IITs, NITs (through JEE Advanced/Main) and other reputed private universities that offer biomedical engineering programs.

Wishing your son all the best for his preparation and future career.

With 91.13 percentile in JEE Main and 87.31 in MHT CET (PCM), and OBC-NCL category, your daughter has a good chance to get CS, IT, AI, or ENTC in decent Pune colleges like PCCOE, AISSMS, DY Patil Akurdi, or JSPM. Apply through both JEE and MHT CET CAP rounds.

With a rank of 1229 in OBC category, getting CSE at BIT Durg is unlikely as past cutoffs were much lower. However, the IT branch at BIT Durg is good with decent placements and can be a good alternative.

Hey! Since you’ve got 89 percentile in JEE Mains and 86 percentile in MHT-CET, and you belong to the OBC category, you do have some good options in both state and central colleges.

With your JEE percentile, getting into top NITs or IIITs might be difficult for CSE or core branches, but you might still get lower-demand branches in newer NITs or other institutes through the JoSAA counselling, especially if you include all rounds and choices carefully.

As for MHT-CET, 86 percentile is quite decent, especially for OBC category. In state counselling (CAP rounds), you could have a good chance in government or aided engineering colleges in Maharashtra, especially for branches like IT, ENTC, Electrical, or Mechanical. For CSE in top Mumbai or Pune colleges, cutoffs might be tighter, but you can still aim for mid-tier colleges where the closing ranks are higher.

Also, don’t forget to apply through both JEE and CET counselling, and fill in as many choices as possible to keep your options open.

Dear student,

Disha Foundation books are a good option if you're aiming to qualify for JEE Mains . They follow the latest NTA syllabus , cover all topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Math , and include a wide range of previous years' solved questions with solutions.

These books also come with mock tests , shortcut tips , and trend analysis , which help in understanding the exam pattern and improving speed and accuracy. They're especially useful for practice and revision .

However, to build a strong conceptual base, it's important to also study from NCERT textbooks and standard books like HC Verma, OP Tandon , or RD Sharma

Hello Aspirant,

If your registered on June 6 and have paid your 1200 registration fee for PES University BTech Admission, but you did not upload your JEE Main score and you did not write the KCET exam, your options for admission through the regular counseling options for direct admission to CSE are limited. Nonetheless, PES university also offers Management Quota (PESSAT Direct Admission) seats, you may get in touch with the admissions office and see if there are any more, CSE seats available under this quota, as they fill up fast

Hey! With a JEE Main rank of 708, you're definitely in a strong position, but when it comes to admission into SPA Bhopal or SPA Vijayawada, it's important to understand that these institutes take students based on their JEE Advanced Paper 2 performance, which is specifically for the B.Arch program. So even though your JEE Main rank is excellent, it's not enough on its own for SPA admission unless you also qualified for JEE Advanced and appeared for the architecture paper.

If you haven't appeared for JEE Advanced Paper 2, then unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for admission into SPA Bhopal or Vijayawada this year. But don’t worry — there are still several architecture colleges that accept JEE Main scores, such as some NITs and private institutions, and with your rank, you might still have good options.

Hope this helps!

With a CRL rank of 3,46,141 and EWS rank 48,597 in JEE Mains, your chances of getting a seat in an NIT through JoSAA counselling are very low, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical, even in the lower ranked NITs.

In most NITs, EWS closing ranks for general category students from Home State quota are usually within 20,000 to 30,000 (EWS rank). So at 48,597 EWS rank, it’s unlikely to get a seat in the regular JoSAA rounds.

However, you still have options:

You can try for spot rounds or vacant seat rounds if held later (CSAB Special Rounds), where cutoffs go slightly lower
You can also look at private engineering colleges or state-level counselling in Bihar like BCECE
If you’re open to other branches or lesser known colleges, or wish to try again next year with better preparation, that’s a good plan too

Hello Aspirant,

It is possible to take the PUC 2 (Karnataka Board) again in 2026 even though you've passed it in 2025. You typically do this to better your marks. You can take all the subjects or you can choose to just take a certain subject(s) (like one subject) focused within the Improvement Exam scheme. You'd have to register through your college or the Karnataka Pre-University Board when they will announce the online or offline registration. Check the official notification for the various deadlines and subjects.
