GATE Exam Centre Allotment 2026: IIT Guwahati will soon release the GATE 2026 exam centre allotment in January 2026. The GATE exam centre allotment 2026 link will be update on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The authority allots the test venue for the GATE entrance exam based on the applicants' preferences and centre availability. The GATE exam centres will be allocated across 200 cities of the eight IIT zonal centres, including IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. Candidates were able to select their preferred exam centre during the GATE 2026 application process, allowing candidates to select up to three exam centres. The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. Further, the GATE 2026 branch-wise exam date is also out online.

First, candidates must visit the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.in 2026.
Now, they must navigate to the ‘Admit card download link on the page.
Once they click on the link, they will be directed to the admit card download page.
Click on the GATE login, and enter your enrolment number and password.
Now click on the download button, and the admit will be downloaded.
The admit card will be downloaded in PDF format.
Check the assigned GATE exam centre, city, date, and shift.
The authority allowed candidates to make changes in the GATE 2026 exam centres through the GATE application form correction window. Candidates were able to make corrections by logging into the correction window link with their GATE enrolment number and password and by paying an additional fee of Rs 500. Below were the steps required to change the exam city in GATE 2026.
Candidates were first required to visit the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Next, locate the application form correction link.
Click on the link and log in with the enrollment number/email ID and password.
Now navigate to the GATE exam centres details and edit the city centres.
Pay the application correction fee via online banking.
And finally, verify and submit the final changes made.

Yes. You can. GATE eligibility specifies that students in their 3rd year and above can appear for the exam. Since the results are valid for 3 years, you can use the same for your admissions.
