Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background, like graduation, place and any such thing)
Ritika Chaudhary: My name is Ritika Chaudhary, and I am currently pursuing my final year of B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. I have always been interested in technology, problem-solving, and understanding how digital products and intelligent systems work in real-life scenarios. During my academic journey, I have explored different domains such as web development, AI/ML, data analytics, and software development through projects, certifications, and internships.
Apart from academics, I have also actively participated in student activities and leadership roles, which helped me improve my communication, teamwork, and management skills. Being involved in technical and extracurricular activities has helped me become more confident, adaptable, and open to learning from different experiences. I enjoy continuously learning new technologies and applying them practically, which is one of the reasons I have always tried to gain hands-on exposure alongside theoretical learning.
Careers360: Tell us something about your College/University and what made you choose it
Ritika Chaudhary: I am pursuing my degree from Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. One of the main reasons I chose this university was its strong focus on practical learning and industry exposure. The curriculum is designed in a way that encourages students to not only focus on academics but also build real-world skills through projects, certifications, internships, workshops, and technical events.
Another major factor that influenced my decision was the integration of Microsoft-associated courses within our curriculum, which provided students with opportunities to learn industry-relevant technologies and gain exposure to tools and concepts that are widely used professionally. The university also offers a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and technical communities.
Additionally, the efforts made by the CRC department in bringing internship and placement opportunities for students played an important role. The university regularly collaborates with companies and keeps students updated through platforms like Superset, which creates good career opportunities for students preparing for internships and placements.
Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at your College/university, and what made you choose this specialisation?
Ritika Chaudhary: I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I chose this specialisation because I have always found emerging technologies and intelligent systems very interesting. AI and ML are transforming industries rapidly, and I wanted to be part of a field that focuses on innovation, automation, and solving real-world problems using technology.
This specialisation allowed me to learn about concepts such as machine learning, data analysis, intelligent systems, and programming while also strengthening my overall computer science fundamentals. Along with the theoretical knowledge, I was also able to work on practical projects and assignments that improved my analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
I believe this specialisation not only prepares students for current industry demands but also encourages continuous learning because technology keeps evolving. It motivated me to explore different technical domains and improve both my technical and professional skills throughout my academic journey.
Careers360: Is an internship mandatory at your University? If yes, where did you pursue it, and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Ritika Chaudhary: Yes, internships are an important and mandatory part of the curriculum at our university because they help students gain practical industry exposure and understand how professional environments work. I am currently pursuing my internship at WDTS, and it has been a great learning experience so far. Through this internship, I am getting exposure to real-world work culture, professional communication, and understanding how products and business workflows operate in the industry.
The opportunity for this internship was shared with students through the CRC department on the Superset platform as part of the campus placement process. The recruitment process included multiple rounds, such as assessments, interviews, and evaluation of technical as well as communication skills. Preparing consistently and participating actively in the process helped me move forward through the different rounds successfully.
The internship duration is aligned with the company requirements and university guidelines. Currently, I am learning a lot about the product, organisational workflows, teamwork, and how different teams collaborate to achieve business goals. It has helped me gain practical exposure beyond classroom learning.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office about the internships?
Ritika Chaudhary: The support provided by the faculty members, peers, and the CRC department played a very important role throughout my internship and placement journey. Faculty members were always supportive in guiding us academically and motivating us to improve our technical as well as professional skills. They encouraged students to participate in projects, certifications, technical events, and internships, which helped in building confidence and industry readiness.
My peers also contributed a lot during the preparation process. We often discussed interview questions, technical concepts, aptitude preparation, and shared learning resources. This collaborative environment made the preparation process more effective and motivating.
The CRC department played a major role in connecting students with industry opportunities. They regularly shared internship and placement opportunities through platforms like Superset and kept students updated regarding eligibility, application deadlines, and recruitment processes. The department also conducted placement-related activities and ensured smooth communication between students and recruiters. The opportunity at WDTS was also brought to us through CRC, and their efforts helped students get access to valuable career opportunities.
Careers360: How was your experience with the internship? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Ritika Chaudhary: My internship experience at WDTS has been very insightful and valuable so far. Since I am currently pursuing the internship, I am continuously learning new things every day about the product, professional workflows, and how teams work together in a real corporate environment. One of the most interesting parts of the experience has been understanding the product in depth and seeing how practical implementation differs from theoretical concepts learned in academics.
The internship has helped me improve not only my technical understanding but also my communication, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. Working in a professional environment taught me the importance of responsibility, time management, and continuous learning. I also learned how important collaboration and clear communication are while working within teams.
One of the biggest takeaways from this experience is understanding how the industry operates in real-time and how every small contribution becomes part of a larger system or product. It has given me more confidence, practical exposure, and clarity about my career goals. Overall, the internship has been a very meaningful learning experience that is helping me grow both professionally and personally.
