Careers360: Tell us something about yourself.
Aradhyay Sharma: I am Aradhyay Sharma, currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialization in AI & ML from Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. I am passionate about technology, especially in the fields of Machine Learning, Data Visualization, Computer Vision, and AI-driven applications.
Along with academics, I have also completed internships in different domains, which helped me improve my technical as well as communication and teamwork skills. Apart from tech, I have been involved in student activities and coordination work, which enhanced my leadership and management abilities.
Careers360: Tell us something about your College/University and what made you choose it
Aradhyay Sharma: Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies provides good exposure in both academics and extracurricular activities. The university encourages practical learning through projects, internships, hackathons, and industry collaborations.
I chose this university because of its focus on emerging technologies like AI & ML, the opportunities for internships and research, and the supportive environment for skill development. The university also provides good industry exposure, which helps students prepare for real-world challenges.
Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at your College/University and what made you choose this specialisation?
Aradhyay Sharma: I am pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
I chose this specialization because I have always been interested in how intelligent systems work and how technology can solve real-life problems using data. AI and ML are rapidly growing fields with applications in healthcare, security, automation, recommendation systems, and many other industries. I enjoy working on problem-solving and analytical tasks, which made this field a natural choice for me.
Careers360: Is an internship mandatory at your University. If yes, where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Aradhyay Sharma: Yes, internships are an important part of our curriculum as they help students gain industry exposure and practical experience.
I completed internships at organizations like National Informatics Centre as a DevOps Intern, D.R.D.O as a quantum computing research intern, Haryana Police under the guidance of IPS Jasleen Kaur in collaboration with Google, and also worked with startups and NGOs such as AcadBuddy and Nayepankh Foundation.
The duration of the internships varied from a few weeks to a few months. The selection process generally involved applying through placement opportunities, submitting resumes, showcasing projects and skills, and clearing interviews or discussions based on technical knowledge and communication skills.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?
Aradhyay Sharma: The faculty members guided us in improving our technical skills, resume building, and project work. They also encouraged participation in internships, competitions, and research activities.
My peers were very supportive in sharing opportunities, preparing for interviews, and collaborating on projects. The placement office regularly shared internship openings, organized training sessions, and helped students connect with companies and organizations. Their support played an important role in helping students secure internships and gain industry exposure.
Careers360: How was your experience with the internship? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Aradhyay Sharma: My internship experience was very valuable and helped me understand how real-world projects and professional environments work. I got the opportunity to work on practical problems, collaborate with teams, and apply the concepts I learned during my coursework.
Some key takeaways from my internships are:
Improved technical and problem-solving skills
Better understanding of teamwork and communication
Exposure to industry tools and workflows
Learning how to manage deadlines and responsibilities
Understanding the importance of continuous learning and adaptability
Overall, the internships helped me become more confident, professional, and career-oriented.
