    In an era where AI holds transformative potential, the panel discussion “AI for Equitable Access: Bridging the Digital Divide, Human Capital, and Inclusion” at Saveetha Engineering College convened to explore how technology can empower communities, foster skill development, and ensure inclusive progress.

    Moderated by Mr. M. Balasubramaniam, this forum brought together experts to address AI’s evolution, ethical challenges, and pathways to universal access. Through dynamic insights and student engagement, participants charted a vision for responsible AI that prioritizes equity and human-centred innovation.

    The panel discussion commenced with Moderator Mr. M. Balasubramaniam providing a compelling introduction to the theme, followed by formal introductions of the distinguished panel members.

    Panellists delved deeply into AI’s remarkable evolution—from its humble origins as a summer project to its current status as a universally accessible technology—while spotlighting key trends and real-world challenges confronting students and everyday users.

    Mr. Bharath Ram underscored critical data attributes, including representation, transparency, and responsibility, to ensure equitable AI systems.

    Mr. Tholkappian Annamalai motivated students by asserting that individuals from any academic domain can excel as software engineers, drawing inspiration from the founder of Perplexity. Meanwhile,

    Mr. Avinash Karn addressed pivotal concerns around sensitivity, security, and empathy as essential pillars for AI’s ethical progression.

    The session proved highly interactive, with students actively engaging through probing questions and insightful observations that reinforced the discussion's focus on equitable access, human capital development, and inclusive innovation.
