85 Percentile in JEE Mains 2026: The marks of 85 percentile in JEE Main 2026 are considered to be quite good scores. However, it may not necessarily ensure that the student is admitted to the most prestigious Institutes such as IITs and NITs. But even then, candidates who are of 85 percentile marks are offered various options such as admission to various government-run engineering colleges and private universities, and lower NITs & IIITs. The percentile score is translated into a rank which changes with each year depending on the number of candidates and the level of difficulty of the JEE Main exam. The rank of a candidate with a 85 percentile would probably be between 102,422- 135,695 that may enable him to get admission to any range of institutions, especially those that have liberal cutoffs or in less sought after engineering courses.
