Careers360: Congratulations on your performance in the JEE Main June 2022 exam! What was your reaction upon knowing your score?
Sneha: I really felt blessed at that moment knowing my score. I did not expect a perfect 300 out of 300 but still due to god’s grace it was possible. My family and teachers are really proud of me.
Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Which board have you studied under? Which school have you studied in?
Sneha: I have studied under CBSE Board with schooling from SAI RNS Academy Guwahati. Moreover, I have taken regular classes coaching from Allen Institute.
Careers360: Why do you want to study engineering? When did you decide to study engineering? Which branch would you be interested in? Any reason?
Sneha: Engineering is my passion which I wish to follow. I decided to take engineering as my career option when I was in class 9.
I am interested in the computer science engineering branch as it is different from other branches and has a high scope. Moreover, since I have interest in computer applications, I believe CSE is the best branch for me.
Careers360: When did you start your JEE Main preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy and daily routine for JEE Main?
Sneha: I started my preparation for JEE Mains from class 10th itself by joining Allen institute, Guwahati. In the beginning I attended offline classes, however, due to covid, classes were later shifted to online.
As far as my daily routine goes, I used to wake up at 4 AM to revise the topics that were studied the past day. Later, I attended my classes, which was followed by revision of topics which were covered in the class and completing assignments. I used to prefer sleeping early.
Once the JEE Main syllabus was over, I preferred staying at my coaching centre from 8 am to 8 pm for revision. The coaching institute provided us with a detailed schedule on which topic needs to be revised. Further, I used to attempt weekly and full length tests as well.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulties since the examination was conducted completely in computer- based mode?
Sneha: I did not face much difficulty in taking JEE Main 2022 as a computer based test because we usually had tests at coaching institutes in online mode only. I was familiar with the pattern.
Careers360: Did you take coaching for JEE Main and if yes from where? What are the benefits of coaching according to you?
Sneha: I took coaching from Allen Institute, Guwahati. I believe taking coaching for JEE Mains is beneficial as they provide us with a proper schedule which needs to be followed. Moreover, enough study material is given which saves our time in looking for notes. Also, since we had regular doubt sessions, I worked as a platform to clear every doubt.
Careers360: Mock tests and sample papers – how extensively did you practice with the help of these? Do you think practicing from the previous year’s papers helps and how?
Sneha: Previous year paper helps a lot in the preparation of JEE Mains and Advanced exam. Every evening I used to attempt previous year’s JEE Main 2022 question papers as a mock test.
Careers360: Are there any special books that you feel have helped with your JEE Main preparation? Are the school textbooks adequate for preparing for JEE Main and Class XII?
Sneha: While preparing for the JEE Main exam, it is very important to study NCERT, especially for Chemistry and Physics. Some direct JEE Main 2022 questions were asked from NCERT. Apart from NCERT, I referred to HC Verma for Physics and Sudarshan Guha for inorganic Chemistry.
Careers360: Did you face any problems during the JEE Main examination? Which subject was the easiest and which was the toughest in JEE Main? What do you think is a tough thing to manage during the JEE Main exam?
Sneha: I did not face any trouble during the JEE Main 2022 exam. For me, the math section was a bit difficult, while the Physics and Chemistry were moderate and easy respectively. The toughest thing in JEE Main is to avoid silly mistakes. This can be done only through good understanding of exam pattern and attempting mock tests. Also, remaining cool and calm while writing a test is also important.
Careers360: What do you think are the key factors behind your stupendous success in JEE Main?
Sneha: The key factor behind my success is my family, who have taken care of my every need and were supporting throughout my journey. Furthermore, teachers at institute have also helped me alot in reaching here.
Careers360: Will you be appearing for the July session of JEE Main 2022 too?
Sneha: Since I have already scored 100 NTA score in JEE Main June session 2022, I will not be appearing for the July session. Now, I am preparing for the JEE Advanced exam.
Careers360: How did you de-stress yourself during the preparation? What are your hobbies? How often could you pursue them?
Sneha: To de-stress myself, I listen to music or any comedy video on YouTube. Sometimes, I also play badminton with my sister.
Careers360: Who is your ideal or biggest inspiration in life and why?
Sneha: My uncle is my biggest inspiration. I have seen him working hard. He took 15 years to pass an exam. Due to financial issues, he was unable to attempt paper in his first attempt. However, he did not give and gave his 15 years. Finally, last year, he was able to qualify for the entrance exam.
Careers360: You know you are an inspiration to thousands of students across the country. Do you have any message for future aspirants on tackling the JEE Main exam?
Sneha: Students should see the hard work of their parents and stay focussed during two years of JEE Mains preparation. Also, they should not get distracted by any kind of social network, instead try to get indulged in some sport activity. Attempt more and more mock tests.

Hello,
Yes, you are right; you can upload your class 10th marksheet for the JEE Main 2026 registration, as DigiLocker documents are considered equivalent to original physical documents by law. You should download the digitally signed marksheet from your DigiLocker account to upload it to the JEE Main application form.
I hope it will clear your query!!
Hello,
As of the JEE Main January 2026 session, candidates can no longer choose their preferred exam cities. Instead, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will assign your exam center based on the address linked to your Aadhaar card.
I hope it will clear your query!!
Hello,
Generally, UPES( University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) might have different admission criteria depending on the specific program. Some may require specific JEE Main scores, while others might consider alternative criteria like their own entrance exams (UPES Engineering Aptitude Test), merit in 12th grade or any other factors. Therefore, even if you didn’t qualify for JEE Mains, you might still be eligible for certain programs at UPES. It’s best to check official UPES site for accurate admission requirements.
I hope this answers helps you!

Trust your journey – Stay calm, believe in your preparation, and avoid comparing with others.
Hello
Since you’re reappearing for your Class 12 boards in 2026, that will be counted as your official passing year. So, you will be eligible to write JEE Advanced in 2026 and 2027. Although you submitted the boards in 2025, that attempt won’t be considered due to the compartment. JEE Advanced rules allow 2 attempts in 2 consecutive years after passing 12th. So you still have both chances left, which is great! Just make sure you meet the other eligibility conditions too. Keep your focus strong, you’ve got this!
