    BTech

    BTech is a professional undergraduate degree course student achieves when she pursues engineering.     MTech

    A person can pursue MTech after it has achieved a BTech degree from a recognized university or college. The course gives a more polished knowledge of a particular topic or subject.     Just like BTech, the course has a variety of subjects. Admission in an MTech program requires an aspirant to appear for GATE, which is a national test. Almost all the institutes ask for GATE marks to secure an admission. The duration of the course is 2 years. 

    Diploma

    A diploma is a one-year-long engineering course with some colleges accepting national exam marks, while some of them hold their separate entrance exams. This course is a short-term course and makes you industry ready rapidly. In this whole year, the student gains fundamental knowledge about the subject. 

    At the end of the year, various companies come for the placement session. Since it is not a regular course, that is, instead of 4 years, the student learns it all in a year, it gets tough to study and acquire complete knowledge. Thus, whoever opts for a diploma in engineering needs to have a strong determination towards the study and should work very hard to secure a good job. 

    PhD

    Engineering Colleges in Mangalore: Eligibility Criteria

    BTech: 

    • The student must have done its higher secondary from a recognized board with at least 45% marks in the science stream with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) as the mandatory subjects.

    • The candidate must fulfil the criteria of the respective educational institution; that is, it should clear the college entrance examination or the national test (as per the college/university requirements)

    MTech:

    • The aspirant must have completed its BTech degree from a recognized university/college. 

    • They should score at least 50% marks in the BTech program.

    • The aspirant is required to appear in the GATE examination, which is a national test needed for admission in MTech programs.

    Diploma:

    • The candidates must have passed senior secondary in PCM (Physics Chemistry, Mathematics) from a recognized board with at least 45%-50% marks. 

    PhD:

    • The candidate must hold an MTech degree if he or she wants to do a PhD. 

    • They also need to present their valid GATE score.
