Final-round JoSAA data shows wide variation in JEE Main cut-off ranks for BTech Mechanical Engineering at NITs under the home state open category. Among leading institutes, NIT Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal closed within the top 20,000 ranks, while mid-tier NITs such as Allahabad, Jaipur, and Jalandhar recorded higher closing ranks. Newer NITs including Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim saw significantly higher cut-offs, reflecting differences in demand and seat availability across institutes.

Make a timetable for revision- Candidates should first prepare a new timetable of 15 days for revision. Candidates may divide 5 days for each subject. It must be kept in mind that the timetable for the JEE Main 15-day revision plan has to be religiously followed otherwise it won't be possible to revise everything. Now, it also depends on the candidates what they want to revise. It means whether they want to revise everything or the entire syllabus. This will entirely depend on the candidates if they wish they can take up important topics from each subject and revise them thoroughly based on their JEE Main 15-day revision plan.
Refer to the handy notes- Candidates can refer to the handy notes prepared during the preparation of the exam. The handy notes will help the candidates in quick revision of the syllabus. Candidates can also add topics if they have learned something new.
Practice Mock tests and sample papers- Candidates must practice more and more JEE Main sample papers and mock tests. These mock tests and sample papers will open the candidates to different types of questions daily and will help them analyze their performance. Laws of Motion- Under this unit, important topics to keep in mind are Force and Inertia, Newton’s First Law of Motion; Momentum, Newton’s Second Law of Motion; and Impulse, Newton’s Third Law of Motion. The weightage of these topics is 4%.
Gravitation- The universal law of gravitation. Acceleration due to gravity and its variation with altitude and depth. The topic has a weightage of 2%.
Properties of Solids and Liquids- Elastic behavior, Stress-strain relationship, Hooke’s Law, Young’s Modulus, Modulus of rigidity.
