How to Correct Aadhaar Name Mismatch in JEE Mains 2026 - NTA has announced that the candidates will be able to correct Aadhaar name mismatch in JEE Main 2026. The notice mentioned that the process used in 2025 will be applicable in 2026 as well. NTA has commenced the JEE Main 2026 registration on October 31, 2025. The guidelines for error correction in the JEE Main 2026 application process are available on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The authority will activate JEE Main 2026 from correction link for session 1 from December 1 to 2, 2025. Candidates encountering an issue with an Aadhaar name mismatch in the JEE Main 2026 application form will be able to rectify it via this correction link. The NTA has announced that the process to correct the Aadhaar name mismatch issue will be the same as that followed in 2025. The process to solve the JEE Main 2026 application Aadhaar mismatch problem is very basic and easy to grasp. When JEE Main 2026 registration name mismatch error occurs, candidates have to follow the given procedure.
In case, on entering the candidate’s name as in the Aadhaar card, the following message pops up, then applicants have to simply click on the close option given in the top right corner.

Candidates must enter their name as mentioned on their Aadhaar card to complete the JEE Main 2026 Aadhaar verification.
The above step will capture both the names, that is, the names on the 10th class certificate and the Aadhaar card.

The process for the application form of JEE Main 2026 broadly involves the following steps-
Registration- Click on the JEE main application tab and provide basic details and contact information. A JEE Main login is created.
Filling the form- After registration, either proceed directly with the application or log in later using the credentials generated before. Fill in the details asked. Aadhaar details will be asked during this process. In case of JEE Main 2026 application Aadhaar mismatch, candidates will have to follow the above-mentioned steps.
Document uploading- Upload the class 10th mark sheet, photograph and signature. The authority has specified the document size requirements in the official brochure.

You can fill the JEE Main form even if you are a private candidate
Write the
name of the school/board from where you are appearing as a private candidate
.
If your Class 12 admit card or registration slip shows a school/centre name, use that exactly.
If your board lists you as a “Private Candidate” under the board name , then write:
CBSE – Private Candidate
(or your board name – Private Candidate)
Use the pin code of the examination centre/school mentioned on your Class 12 private candidate admit card or registration details.
If your board does not give any school address and only shows the regional office address, then use the regional office address pin code given by your board.

You should not leave the OBC-NCL certificate ID blank in the JEE Main form it can create problems later.
NTA wants the certificate details while filling the form, not just at counselling. If you can, apply for the OBC-NCL certificate immediately so you get the ID on time.
If you fail to submit the certificate during counselling, your category will shift to General. It’s safer to enter OBC-NCL only if you’re sure you’ll get the certificate before counselling.
