JEE Main January 2020 - National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main 2020 January in the first week of January. JEE Main January 2020 will be conducted as as computer based test. Application forms for JEE Main January 2020 will be released on September 2, 2019 tentatively in online mode. Students who wish to appear for the JEE Main January exam need to fill the application form and submit it within the specified last date. Students are advised to first read all the information regarding eligibility criteria and ensure they fulfill all the conditions. The complete procedure for filling JEE Main January 2020 application form is online which include registration, filling of form, uploading photograph and signature and payment of fees. Students who fills the JEE Main January application form within specified dates will be issue admit card. The admit card of JEE Main 2020 will be released in December in online mode. The result of JEE Main January 2020 will be declared in the last week of January. The second attempt of JEE Main 2020 will be conducted in April. Students who are applying for JEE Main January 2020 must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Students must note that there candidature will automatically get cancelled if they do not fulfill the conditions of eligibility as mentioned by the authority. The detailed eligibility conditions are mentioned below
Age Limit : There is no age boundation for appearing in the JEE Main 2020.
Year of Passing Class 12 : Students who have passed their class 12 exam in 2018, 2019 or are appearing in 2020 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2020 in both January and April attempt.
Number of Subjects in Class 12 : Students must have a total of five subjects in their class 12. Students who have less than five subjects in their class 12 are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2020 exam.
Percentage of Marks in Class 12 : There is no minimum percentage of marks required for appearing in the exam.
Students who would be appearing in the JEE Main January 2020 must be clearly aware about the exam pattern. The exam pattern of JEE Main 2020 includes the marking scheme, types of questions, pattern of questions and other exam related information. Students can find below the detailed exam pattern

The application form of JEE Main January 2020 will be released by NTA on September 2, 2019 tentatively. The application form will be released in online mode only. Students have to first register and then complete the application form, upload scanned images of photograph and signature and pay the application fee. As the complete application process is online, students need not send the hard copy of application form to the official authority. Step 1 - Registration : Students have to register at portal of JEE Main 2020 in online mode. Candidates need to provide the following details at the time of registration

Candidates should take utmost care while filling particulars at the time of registration. The name and date of birth should be exactly the same with marksheet of class 10 and 12.
Step 2 - Filling of Application Form : Students need to fill the application form after registration process. Students need to provide details regarding their educational qualification, family details, address, exam centres, paper details are required to be filled in application form. Students can find below the detailed list of particulars required during application form filling
Paper Details - Candidates need to fill information regarding paper for which appearing, Paper I, Paper II or both.
Choice of Examination City - Students have to select four examination cities out of the choices available to them.
Question Paper Medium - Students need to select the medium of question paper from English, Hindi and Gujarati.
Personal Details - In the personal details section, candidates need to fill the following details

Step 3- Uploading photograph and signature : Students need to upload the scanned images of their recent passport size coloured photograph and their signature. The scanned images should be of good quality and must not in any case be blurry or digitally blended. The specification of images is described below

Step 4 - Payment of Application Fees : Students who have completed the registration, application form filling and uploading of images need to pay the application fee. Students have to pay the application fee in online mode through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ e-Challan. The details of application fee is given below

Students whose payment will be done successfully need to download the confirmation page. The confirmation page will carry all the information furnished by the candidate filled in the application form and also payment slip. Students will also receive a copy of the confirmation page in their registered email ID. Students are advised to keep a copy of the confirmation page safe with them until the complete admission process is done.
NTA will issue JEE Main January 2020 admit card to all students who complete the application process within the specified time. The Admit Card of JEE Main January 2020 will be released in online mode in December. Students will be required to login to their candidate portal to download their admit card. The JEE Main 2020 admit card will carry all the information like Name and photograph of candidate, Exam Centre name and address, Schedule of the exam and Paper for which appearing. Students must verify all the details mentioned on the admit card after downloading it and error, if any should be immediately rectified. Students should contact the NTA authorities in helpline numbers for any issue related to admit card.
Students must note that admit cards will not be sent to candidates by post or any other means. All candidates need to download their admit card online from JEE Main 2020 portal.

Students should preserve the admit card till the complete admission process is done.
Students should contact the NTA official if they found any error in photograph or name.
It is a must to bring admit admit card at the exam centre, failing which no student will be allowed to appear in the exam.
The syllabus of JEE Main 2020 mentions all the topics from each subject which are covered in the exam. Students must be aware about the exact syllabus and exam pattern before they head-start their preparation for JEE Main 2020. The syllabus of JEE Main 2020 includes topics from class 11 and 12 from where questions are being asked.
The preparation tips for JEE Main 2020 are very important to score good marks in the exam. Students who would be appearing in the exam must look for JEE Main 2020 preparation tips by experts, which will guide in proper study and scoring good marks. The preparation tips are very useful in overall strategizing and execution of study plan and thus scoring good marks.
Students must practice the mock test of JEE Main 2020 to score good marks in the exam. Students can practice the mock tests from the NTA website. Students can also practice the test at test practice centres set up by MHRD, Government of India for making students familiar with the computer based test. Students need to register themselves for availing the service of test practice centres without any cost.
The NTA will release JEE Main January 2020 answer key after the completion of exam. The answer key will be released in online mode and will be available in the form of pdf. The JEE Main January 2020 answer key will be released for all sets and shifts of exam for both Paper I and Paper II except for the drawing part of Paper II. NTA will also release students response sheets along with the answer keys.
Students also have the provision of challenging the answers given in the answer key. NTA will consider the challenges and will release final answer key after the challenging process.
The result of JEE Main January 2020 will be released in online mode in the last week of January. The result will be in the form of NTA scores for all three subjects and a combined NTA score. The NTA score is a normalized score calculated by normalization process using an algorithm. The normalized score is calculated to maintain uniformity in difficulty level of exam held in different day and shifts.
The JEE Main cutoff is the minimum marks a candidate need to score to qualify the test. Students who obtains the JEE Main January 2020 cutoff are eligible to take admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs and also becomes eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2020. Students who want to take admission in IITs need to qualify JEE Advanced exam. The JEE Main 2020 cutoff will be in the form of NTA score and will be released after the conclusion of April attempt exam.
2019 (NTA Score)
NTA will publish the JEE Main 2020 rank list after the conduction of both January and April exam.The rank list will be prepared on the basis of candidates performance in JEE Main 2020 January and April exam. Students who appears in both January and April exam, the best of two score will be used for the preparation of rank list. The JEE Main 2020 rank list will form the basis of admission in all the institute which offers admission through the rank. The rank list is prepared for all different categories of students.
The counselling of JEE Main January 2020 is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). The JoSAA counselling allot seats in all IITs on the basis of students rank in JEE Advanced while in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, ranks of JEE Mains are considered for admission.
The CSAB counselling is held for allotment of seats to candidates of North East and Union Territories (NEUT), for supernumerary seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other participating institutes. A separate CSAB round is held for SFTIs and a special round for left over seats of all the participating institutes.
All the JoSAA and CSAB rounds are done through a centralised counselling in online mode. The seats are allotted as per the score and choices filled by candidate during the registration for counselling.
The participating institutes of JEE Main 2020 includes NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Students who qualify the JEE Main will become eligible to appear in JEE Advanced and also for admission in IITs, subject to qualifying exam. There are a total of 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 GFTIs. The total number of seats in all the participating institutes are around 38,000.
