NTA JEE Mains 2026 January Registration: NTA has commenced the January 2026 registration on October 31, 2025. Candidates can find the JEE Main 2026 registration link on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEEE Main 2026 registration can be done till November 27, 2025. Before starting the registration, candidates must satisfy JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria, which require candidates to complete the 12th class in 2024/2025 or appear in 2026. The JEE Main exam is scheduled from January 21 to 30, 2026, for Session 1. And the JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from April 2 to 09, 2026, for Session 2.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria for Application
NTA released certain requirements for JEE Main aspirants, which they must fulfil to fill in the NTA JEE Main application form 2026. It must be noted that candidates who do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements are exempted from applying for the exam. The JEE Main eligibility criteria are verified via the documents submitted by the candidates during the application process. To be eligible for the JEE Main 2026 exam, candidates must have
Candidates who pass Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 and even appear for 2026 are eligible to fill out the application form.
Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in class 12, along with any subject from Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
There is no requirement for a minimum percentage of marks in class 12 for appearing in JEE Mains 2026. However, for admission in IITs and NITs, candidates need to have a minimum of 75 per cent in class 12.
There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Mains 2026.
NTA JEE Mains 2026 January Registration Process
Candidates who have completed the above-mentioned JEE Main eligibility can fill out the online JEE Main 2026 application form. Candidates will find the application form on the
official website of NTA. In the meantime, they can practise the application process via the dummy registration link provided by the authority. Here is the overall procedure that candidates must follow to complete the JEE Main 2026 application process.
Candidates are first required to visit the official website of NTA, jeemain.nta.nic.In.
Click on the registration link available on the website.
Now, create a password and choose a security question to generate an application number.
Candidates can now log in with the system-generated application number and pre-created password to fill out the application form with all the required information.
Now upload all the necessary documents and photos.
To complete the application, candidates must pay the requisite examination fees.
After successful completion of the above steps, candidates will be able to print the confirmation page.

Documents Required for JEE Mains 2026 January Registration
Having all the required documents ready in hand before filling out the application is a must. Below is the list of documents required for JEE Main registration.
Valid email and mobile number for NTA messages.
Upload a Class 10 certificate only; Class 12 is not required.
Aadhaar card or other Identity proof details and their scanned copies are needed.
A scanned photo and signature are required.

If you’re appearing for Class 12 (HSC) in 2026 and don’t have your board admit card or roll number yet, you can leave the “Registration No./Enrollment No./Roll No.” field blank or enter “NA” (Not Applicable) if the form allows.
Do not enter your school GR number, as it’s not recognized by the exam board or NTA.
Once your board issues the admit card or registration number, it can be updated later during JEE Main form correction or at the time of result verification.
So, for now, safely enter “NA” or leave blank — not your GR number.

The EWS category is based on the family’s annual income, which must be below 8 lakhs from all sources.
The certificate should be issued by a competent government authority and must be valid for the current financial year.
