GATE does not have a centralized counselling process. The candidates will have to individually apply for admission at their preferred Indian Institute of Technology. While some IITs take direct admission on the basis of GATE scores, there are some institutes who will also conduct an additional entrance test or interview to review the candidate’s qualifications. GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a common platform where the candidates will have to register for IIT admissions after applying individually. The candidates will be able to check the list of admission offers in one platform and accordingly select their preference.

GATE 2020 will be conducted by IIT Delhi on February 1, 2, 8 and 9.
The application form of GATE 2020 will be available from September 3, 2019.
M.Tech admissions will commence tentatively in February till April.
Each IIT will be responsible for preparing and releasing their own cutoff.

So analyse the topics and syllabus that you have learnt for the past 3 years and practise as much Mathematics as you can. Try as many mock tests as possible and get a hang of the exam pattern. The tentative dates to make corrections to your Category would be from the last week of October to 1st week of November. This is tentative and so please keep an eye on the official website. Dear Pramod, IIT Delhi has closed registrations for GATE 2020 as on October 5th, 2019 along with late fees. Now the correction window has been opened. At this juncture, registering for GATE 2020 is not a possibility. You may have to wait until the next year if you plan on appearing for GATE. For GATE 2020, you have been late.
