Admission Procedure for IITs through GATE

GATE does not have a centralized counselling process. The candidates will have to individually apply for admission at their preferred Indian Institute of Technology. While some IITs take direct admission on the basis of GATE scores, there are some institutes who will also conduct an additional entrance test or interview to review the candidate’s qualifications. GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is a common platform where the candidates will have to register for IIT admissions after applying individually.
