Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Courses
There are more than three thousand engineering colleges spread across all over India with about thirty-five lakh students enrolled for under-graduation level programs. There are five engineering course options available for all undergraduate-level applicants. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for each of the five options.
BE or B.Tech. - All applicants must have passed their XII exam from science stream with a minimum aggregate of 60 percent.
B.Tech. Lateral Entry - All applicants must have successfully finished a three-year long Diploma course recognized by the technical examination board of any state with a minimum aggregate of 45 percent marks.
ME or M.Tech. - There are two indicators that have to be passed for ME/MTech degrees, that is, any student who applies must hold an undergraduate degree and have obtained necessary marks in the entrance exam, i.e. GATE.
Engineering Diploma - All applicants must have dutifully completed their 10th or any equivalent examination by scoring a minimum of thirty-five marks in all science and mathematics subjects.
Ph.D. - Every aspirant of PhD degree must have passed out from both BTech and MTech in the relevant field with an aggregate of fifty-five percent marks, at the very least.
