Steps to fill TIET B.Tech application form 2026

• Registration - Firstly, candidates have to get themselves registered by submitting some basic details such as name, email address, mobile number, preferred course, and more. After the details are submitted, candidates will have to click on “Create a new account”.

• Username generation - Upon successful registration, the username and password will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number. Candidates will have to change their password.

• Filling the application form - In the next step, candidates will have to fill out the application form. Details such as personal information, contact details, and academic qualifications will be asked in the form.

• Uploading of documents - Candidates will also have to upload a clear photograph, signature, and JEE Main admit card in the format specified by the concerned authorities.

• Payment of application fee - Finally, payment of the TIET B.Tech admission 2026 application fee has to be made in online or offline mode. To pay online mode, the candidates can use net banking/credit card/debit card. For offline mode, a demand draft has to be drawn in favor of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and payable at Patiala. TIET B.Tech Merit List 2026

The authorities will prepare the merit list based on the marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination. Note that JEE Main qualified candidates will be given higher preference. Students are called for counselling and allotment of seats on the basis of their merit. Candidates will be able to check the TIET 2026 B.Tech merit list by logging into the portal using valid credentials.

The admission to all the seats of BE/BTech programmes shall be made on the basis of merit of aggregate of three subjects namely, Physics, Mathematics, and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject*.

The tie in B.Tech mode 2 admissions 10+2 PCM marks shall be broken in the following order:

• Resolution by rank obtained in JEE Main – 2026 / NEET – 2026 (for BTech – Biotechnology/B.Tech - Biomedical Engineering). Candidates obtaining better ranks will be placed higher in merit.
• Resolution by marks obtained in Physics in 10+2. Candidates obtaining higher marks will be given better ranks.
• Resolution by date of birth. Candidates, higher in age shall get preference on candidates with lower age.
• If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank.
