The Karnataka PGCET 2025 result was announced on August 8, 2025. Students who clear the Karnataka PGCET or have a valid GATE rank will be able to participate in the counselling process. Candidates who meet the Karnataka PGCET counselling eligibility criteria 2025 will be considered for the counselling process:
Students should have passed the qualifying degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category),
Candidates with valid GATE 2025 scores will be eligible to apply. Also, such candidates must have filled out and registered for the Karnataka PGCET 2025.
Names of the candidates should appear in the PGCET 2025 merit list (GATE and PGCET merit lists will be prepared separately. Preference will be given to GATE 2025 qualified candidates).
Candidates seeking admission in M Tech/ME (Part-Time) should have work experience of not less than 3 years.
Note: GATE-qualified candidates need not appear in the Karnataka PGCET 2025 test but should fill out the online application form.
Candidates who will be applying for admission through the Karnataka PGCET 2025 counselling process must keep the following points in mind:
Aspirants have to visit the Karnataka PGCET counselling 2025 help centres as per their rank and schedule only.
Students will have to carry documents required for Karnataka PGCET verification 2025, both original and Xerox copies, to the help centres.
They are advised to fill in choices in order of their preference. The seat allotment of Karnataka PGCET 2025 will be done only as per the choices filled based on the rank and category of students. Also, they should check and lock their choices before the last date.
Those who will be allotted a seat in any round should download the provisional seat allotment letter and visit the allotted institute within the specified time.
Students who do not visit the allotted institute within the date mentioned in the provisional Karnataka PGCET seat allotment letter 2025 will themselves be liable for the cancellation of their seats.
Candidates who will be allotted a seat in the 1st round but wish to participate in the second round of counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2025 will have to first confirm the seat by the payment of the seat acceptance fees at the help centre.
For claiming reservations under any category, they should submit proper certificates duly attested by prior authorisation.
The income certificate for claiming a fee waiver must be recent and obtained from a competent authority on or after 01.01.2025.
Applicants who will be applying for admission through the GATE 2025 score, non-Karnataka candidates, and PwD candidates will have to visit the Bangalore help centre for the verification of documents.
Candidates who will be applying for admission through the GATE score 2025 will be required to apply online for the Karnataka PGCET 2025, however, they need not appear in the entrance test.

Candidates will have to follow the procedure below while appearing for Karnataka PGCET 2025 counselling:
Students who will be applying for admission will have to visit the help centre for registration according to their ranks and schedule. The exam authorities will set up help centres across the state for all the processes regarding registration and counselling. Registration will be done using the PGCET 2025 application number, where candidates will have to submit all the details as requested. During the process of registration, candidates will be briefed on further counselling procedures by the officials conducting counselling for PGCET 2025.
Document verification will be done at the designated centre after the successful registration of Karnataka PGCET 2025. Candidates will have to carry all the documents required for Karnataka PGCET verification 2025, both original and xerox copies, to the help centres. Also, candidates will be issued a document verification acknowledgement card and verification slip, which they will have to retain till the entire admission process is over. Candidates who will be eligible for Karnataka PGCET 2025 seat allotment after document verification will be allotted a high-security key. All candidates will have used this high-security key to log in for choice filling. They need to change their password right after logging in through the security key. Students are advised to carefully register their choices as per their order of preference and lock them before the last date, failing which the choices will be locked automatically.
Note: Candidates can enter any number of choices available to them and can also modify the list till final submission.
The authority announced the date for PGCET 2025 seat allotment 2025 round 1 as September 29, 2025, online. It was held to familiarise the students with the seat allotment procedure and give them an idea about their seat allotment.
Karnataka Examination Authority allocates the seats based on merit prepared from the candidate’s score in the PGCET/GATE exam, category, and choice filled by them. Seats will be allocated with priority to GATE-qualified candidates on an Indian basis without any reservation.
After the seat allotment of GATE-qualified candidates, the remaining seats are offered to PGCET/GATE candidates based on the reservation criteria for the Karnataka region in the order of merit. Candidates allotted a seat will have an option of withdrawing from counselling after acceptance of the seat, and move to the second round after accepting the seat or withdrawing from the counselling without accepting the seat.
Candidates will be able to download the allotment letter and visit the allotted institute within the specified date & time to confirm their admission/seat. Those who want to appear in round 2 of counselling have the option of modifying their choice within a specified date and time.
The authority will release the Karnataka PGCET cutoff 2025 for each round separately. KEA will also upload the mock round cutoff online. Candidates do not have to log in to check the cutoff of Karnataka PGCET. The following table shows the previous year's cutoff.
