The JEE Main 2026 final answer key for paper 2 has been uploaded. The final JEE Mains session 1 answer key 2026 for paper 1 was released on February 16. JEE Main January Result 2026

NTA has declared the JEE Main 2026 results for BTech online on February 16, 2026, while the paper 2 result was declared on February 24, 2026. The JEE Main 2026 result includes the subject-wise NTA scores of the candidates along with their overall NTA score. As the exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate using normalization. JEE Main 2026 Rank list

The authorities will prepare the rank list of JEE Mains 2026 after the completion of all the sessions. The NTA scores for each of the candidates will be merged for the compilation of results and preparation of the overall rank list/merit list. For candidates who will appear for all the sessions of JEE Mains 2026, the ranking will be determined by considering their best of all NTA scores. The JEE Main rank list will be released in online mode. Also, inter se merit will be prepared in case of the same marks of two or more candidates.

JEE Main 2026 Cutoff

The authorities will release the cutoff of JEE Main in online mode. JEE Main cutoff 2026 will include admission cutoffs and qualifying cutoffs. The admission cutoff 2026 is the minimum marks required by the candidates to get admission in IIITs, NITs, CFITs, and other participating institutes of NTA JEE Main 2026 while the minimum marks required by the candidates to qualify for JEE Advanced 2026 will form the qualifying cutoff. JEE Main 2026 Counselling

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct the JEE Main 2026 counselling. The authorities will commence the JEE Main counselling 2026 after the declaration of final result of the exam. JEE Main 2026 Reservation Criteria

The authorities provide certain reservations to candidates for admission in the participating institutes based on their categories. The following table can be referred to know the reservation criteria for JEE Main 2026.

Admission to NITs, CFITs, IIITs, and Other Participating Institutes

The admission of candidates in B.Tech/B.Arch/B. Plan courses through CSAB in NITs, IIITs, and CFITs will be based on the All India Rank of the candidate provided he/she should have passed in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards. The minimum eligibility criteria in 10+2 for the general category is 75% and for SC/ST candidates is 65%.

For B.Arch admissions in institutes other than NITs, IIITs, and CFITs; the Council of Architecture (COA) has the following criteria-

Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination.

For B.Planning, candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with 5 % marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination.

Admission to other institutes

If a state opts to admit students in engineering Colleges affiliated to State universities, it may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.

JEE Main 2026 Participating Institutes

Institutes that take admission based on JEE Main 2026 are the participating institutes of the exam. JEE Mains participating institutes 2026 list will be released along with the official notification. The JEE Main participating institutes for last year included the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). There are 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 CFTIs in the country.

NTA has set up an online query redressal system for candidates where they can ask any query related to JEE Mains 2026. The system has been created for the quick redressal of the queries/grievances of the candidates. A Unique Registration Number will be provided to candidates on raising a query to track the status of the query/grievance

The National Testing Agency concluded the JEE Main 2026 form correction on December 1 & 2, 2025. The JEE Main 2026 January registration was concluded on November 27, 2025. Candidates who fulfilled the JEE Main eligibility criteria will be allowed to apply for the exam. Moreover, candidates who filled out the JEE Mains 2026 registration have to pay the fees and upload the necessary documents. Also, candidates must note that multiple applications by a candidate will be rejected.

Steps to fill JEE Main 2026 January Application Form

Candidates can check the step-by-step procedure to fill the JEE Main 2026 application form here.

Step 1: Registration - The first step, candidates will have to register by entering personal details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, qualifying exam roll number, etc., along with entering the contact details. Candidates will also have to create a password and answer a security question. After successful registration, an application number will be generated.

Step 2: Filling of Application Form- After registration, candidates will have to log in to the candidate portal using their Application number and password to fill in all other required details of the application form, including state code of eligibility, category, preference of exam cities, educational details and parents’ income details.

Step 3: Uploading Documents- After filling in all the details of the application form, candidates will have to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature, and Class 10th mark sheet as per the specifications provided by the authorities.

Step 4: Payment of Application fee- In the next step, candidates will be required to pay the application fee of JEE Main 2026 online mode through debit/credit card or internet banking.

JEE Main January Exam Centres 2026

The authority has released the list of JEE Main 2026 exam centres for the January session along with the official brochure. The allotment of JEE Main January 2026 exam centres will be done based on the choices filled by the candidates and the availability of seats. Candidates have to fill in four choices of exam centres while filling out the application form. The details of the exam centres will be communicated to the candidates via admit cards.

JEE Main January Exam Pattern 2026

The JEE Main 2026 January session exam pattern is updated on the official website. According to the revised paper pattern from the previous year, the exam structure will return to its original format. In Section B, candidates will need to attempt all 5 (five) numerical value questions per subject, with no optional questions allowed. This change applies to Paper 1 (B.E./B. The authority has released the JEE Main 2026 January syllabus on the official website. Candidates must know about the JEE Mains 2026 syllabus to prepare a study plan for the exam. Knowledge of the JEE Main 2026 January syllabus will help the candidates study the right topics for the exam. The syllabus of JEE Main 2026 is based on the syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of Class 11th and 12th for the B.E/B.Tech exam. The syllabus of B.Arch and B.Plan is based on Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing/Planning subjects.

JEE Mains January City Intimation Slip 2026

The authority released the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip on January 8, 2026, on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA released the JEE Mains admit card for January 21, 22, 23 ,24, 28 & 29, 2026 online. NTA will activate the JEE Main 2026 mock tests on its official website nta.ac.in. Candidates can access JEE Main mock tests through the website by clicking on the mock test link. Candidates can practice these mock tests online and can also download them. These mock tests are based on the actual pattern of the JEE Main exam 2026 and give the real feel of the examination to the candidates.
