Satya, Firstly, let us predict your expected rank for this secured percentile. Now, It is difficult to predict the exact ranks currently as the April Jee session has yet to take place. However, you can predict your expected rank by this formula:-
(100 - your total score) X 869010 /100.
If, however, the number of candidates for April exam get increased to another number, say, 1200000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 1200000/100
In your case the expected ALL INDIA RANK rank comes out to be around 112971. Honestly, getting any good branch at any of the NITs would be extremely difficult for a general category student irrespective of the home state considerations. However, if you still wish for an NIT, then you have a slight chance in Northeastern NITs like NIT SIKKIM, NIT MIZORAM, NIT MANIPUR etc and maybe also in NIT PUDUCHERRY. If you wish to check the previous years cutoffs of various NITs then you can visit this link
Also, you have a good percentile and you may get some good state level colleges, so you should opt for the State- level counselling process as well and can also try for various other private institutes. In addition to this, there is a decent chance that you would qualify for JEE ADVANCED based on these scores, so you would likely have a chance to aim for the IITs too.
Also, you do have another attempt to go in the APRIL JEE MAINS Session, so concentrate on that too boost your chances of getting the desired college and your desired branches.
Also, you can use this college predictor to know what colleges you would get based on these January scores
you can easily get admission in nit durgapur for the mechanical engineering course with your percentile obtained in jee mains examination easily. According to the expected cutoff for this year for sc category it was about 54.01 . so you can also try for the advanced examination too.
hope this information helps..
Vignesh, Before any prediction or analysis of your chances, please understand that NIT CALICUT offers admission to B.Tech as well as B. Arch courses through JEE MAIN PAPER1 AND PAPER2 respectively. The National Testing Agency , NTA conducts two papers viz. Jee Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2 for entrance to B.Tech and B.Arch respectively. In your case, you have not specified whether you want to inquire about your chances based on percentile secured in JEE MAIN PAPER-1 or PAPER-2. So, I am going to answer your query taking into consideration that the query is about JEE MAIN PAPER 2 for entrance to B. Arch course in NIT CALICUT and if your query was different, then you can let me know.
Now, to calculate your expected rank for B.Arch based on the percentile score that you have secured, you can use this formula:
So, (100 - your total percentile score) is the percentage of people ahead of you. Also, 112679 were the number of candidates who appeared for January exam.
So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 112679 /100.
Also, note that the ranks will change according to increase or decrease in the number of participants in the next session.
Now, according to this formula, your expected rank is around 10997.This is the expected General or All India Rank and not the category rank as the category ranks are very tough to predict at this point of time.
Now,In your case, your chances of getting admission to NIT CALICUT are small irrespective of your home state, gender and category considerations as evident from the previous years cutoff trends as follows:-
2019 NIT CALICUT CUTOFF RANK FOR GENERAL CATEGORY ie according to the ALL INDIA RANK was as follows
MALE (HOME STATE) 1668
MALE (OTHER STATE) 1362
FEMALE (HOME STATE) 972
FEMALE (OTHER STATE) 856
If you want to check the previous year cutoffs, you can visit this link
However, you have a good percentile and it may fetch you the seats in many other good government and private institutions and probably in other good NITs based on your category status. In addition to it, you do have another attempt to go in APRIL JEE to improve your scores and hence the chances for a desired college.
If you want to know the colleges you would get at this score, you can use this college predictor
The ranks are category rank and the seats are offered on the basis of category rank in the josaa counselling platform you can select the category and find closing rank of various colleges therefore the reservation based admission offers rank is based on the category and admission is given on the category rank.
