Why is NTA Rejecting JEE Main Application Form? - Candidates can check the rejection status of their JEE Main 2026 application form on the official website. To attempt the JEE Main 2026 exam, candidates must successfully complete the NTA JEE Main 2026 registration. All details entered during the registration of JEE Main 2026 will be scrutinised by NTA and will then be accepted. However, NTA can also reject the JEE Main 2026 application form in case of any discrepancies. The NTA has reopened the session 2 JEE Main 2026 registration from March 12 to 13, 2026. The session 2 JEE Main exam will be conducted from April 2 to 9, 2026.

Incorrect Photograph Upload | Blurry, selfie, filtered, wrong size, wrong background, or non-compliant photo format. |
Invalid Signature Upload | Signature unclear, in uppercase, initials, wrong size, pencil-drawn, or parent’s signature uploaded. |
Incorrect/Invalid Category Certificate | Uploading Outdated, mismatched, and incomplete caste certificates while applying for proof of reservation |
Multiple Application Forms | Filling up more than one form using various emails/phones/Aadhaar leads to NTA rejecting the application |
Incomplete Application Details | Missing or incorrect personal, academic, or exam-related information in the application form. |
Payment Failure | Fee not successfully paid, pending transactions, or unsuccessful payment confirmation can mean incomplete registration, and thus the application will be rejected |
Aadhaar / ID Mismatch | Name, DOB, or photo differs from the Aadhaar or any ID mentioned for candidate verification. |
Invalid Email or Phone Number | Wrong or inactive contact details can cause the candidate to miss NTA alerts and correction notifications. |
Failure to Use the JEE Main Correction Window | Not fixing errors or not re-uploading correct documents during the JEE Main 2026 correction period can cause the JEE Main application to be rejected. |
Incorrect Photograph/ Signature Upload - Candidates must ensure that the scanned copies of the photo/signature are uploaded according to the guidelines mentioned on the official website. In case the scans keep being rejected, the candidate must once again scan and re upload a fresh copy online.

Multiple Application Forms: NTA does not allow the candidate to fill out multiple JEE Main applications. Hence, the candidates must ensure that they have only filled out one form and that there are no duplicates.
Incomplete Application Details- Before the final submission of the JEE Main form, ensure that all the essential details are filled in correctly. NTA will not process the incomplete JEE Main application forms.

Aadhaar / ID Mismatch - Candidates must ensure that their name, DOB, and other details match the Aadhaar or the ID provided exactly. In case of any mismatch, the candidate must immediately rectify it through the proper channels.
Invalid Email or Phone Number - The email/ phone number provided by the candidate must be correct and in active use. If not, the candidate can miss notifications about the corrections required and thus their application will be rejected.
JEE Main Fee payment Failure- The fee may not be credited to the NTA server due to server issues or bank failure. The candidate must wait and reattempt to pay the fee in a while. In case the amount has been debited from the account, they can take a screenshot and email it to NTA as proof of payment.
Failure to Use JEE Main Correction Window - Any errors in the application form can be corrected during the JEE Main 2026 correction window. Candidates will be allowed to rectify their errors on December 1 & 2, 2025. Failure to login and correct the errors will also result in the JEE Main 2026 application form being rejected.
Incorrect/Invalid Category Certificate - The caste certificate should be of the latest prescribed format and must be complete. In case it does not follow the correct format, the candidate must apply for the caste certificate again and reupload it on the NTA JEE Main portal.
