National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Ropar has attained the status of a deemed University in the year 2023. NIELIT is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology admissions are offered based on the scores obtained in entrance examinations such as JEE Main/ GATE.

This interview with Prakhar Mishra, a BTech CSE student at NIELIT Ropar is presented to you by Careers360. In this interview, Prakhar speaks about the campus life at NIELIT.

Careers360: Please give us an introduction of yourself.

Prakhar: I am Prakhar Mishra, currently pursuing my 2nd year in B.Tech CSE (AI/ML) at NIELIT Ropar.

Careers360: How would you describe the overall campus environment of NIELIT?

Prakhar: For academics, it's very good with proper labs and good teachers, the rest other things are in the way.

Careers360: How student-friendly are the administrative processes at NIELIT?

Prakhar: They are very friendly.

Careers360: Are there any unique aspects of NIELIT campus life that you think set it apart from other institutions?

Prakhar: Very Cooperative Professors and listen to our problems and course curriculum make it very different from others.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty during the initial months of your joining the institute?

Prakhar: Yes, I do, because the campus was new and due to our first batch of NIELIT, we lag in many things such as sports, mess and many more, but now everything is taking its shape.

Careers360: How would a typical day at the NIELIT campus look like for you?

Prakhar: It's like attend classes, rest, self-study, a little bit chill, Skill development and again the same route, but on the weekend, we expect to play cricket.

Careers360: Are there active student clubs (technical, cultural, or hobby-based) at your NIELIT campus?

Prakhar: Yes, they are on their way to launch.

Careers360: Does the NIELIT campus organise tech fests, seminars, or student events?

Prakhar: Currently, no fest is organised, but yes, they promise to have, rest seminars and student events organised on occasion.

Careers360: What would you like to improve about campus life at your NIELIT campus?

Prakhar: Just add good sports facilities, else everything is good.

Careers360: Are there enough hangout spots or common areas on campus? If yes, then which one is your favourite and why?

Prakhar: Currently, no hangout spots are there.

Careers360: Share a memorable moment from your time spent at the NIELIT campus.

Prakhar: It was the cricket competition.

Careers360: What advice would you give to a new student joining NIELIT?

Prakhar: Attend classes, develop your skills and participate in events, and enjoy.
