On the basis of the latest findings, it was revealed that the rates of registrations are considerably lower than the findings of the previous years. According to the latest reports, the number of registrations are significantly lower compared to the previous years. Factors that have been aligned with the decline in registrations include shift in examination patterns, change in the level of difficulty of the examinations and shifts in the criteria of qualifying procedures. There seems to be increased competition within the overall framework of the exam where cutoffs are higher and the tying rules starting from the year 2025. Further, it may also show changes in students’ preference for other programmes which seem to offer more relative employment benefits.

JEE Main 2025 New Rules Announced by NTA
The lower registration numbers for JEE Main 2025 can be blamed on many factors. First, the long holiday season and festivities may have derailed students’ efforts to concentrate on the application process. Also owing to the introduction of new category codes by the NTA there has been some level of confusion. A third aspect is the latter earlier registration this year than in previous years commenced in November due to the following factors.
Still, this figure is considerably lower compared with the previous years, though it is likely to grow faster for the last registration date is November 22, 2024. That could be the cause for the lowest number in JEE Main 2025 registration due to the long holidays during festivities, and changes in the number of categories by the NTA.
