Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019 - Karnataka Examination Authority will organize the PGCET Counselling 2019 tentatively in first week of September 2019 for admitting students in M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch courses. Student who are seeking admission through Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling have to first register and get document verification done by visiting help centres as per their GATE/PGCET rank. The registration and document verification for Karnataka PGCET Counselling will begin from last week of August. Candidates will be issued a high security key for choice filling post document verification. Students have to login into Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019 portal using high security key for choice filling and locking. Seats will be offered through Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling solely on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of score in GATE/ PGCET. The Karnataka PGCET Counselling seat allotment result will be declared online in the official website.

Candidate can apply for admission either through GATE or PGCET score however, preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates. Candidates who wish to apply through GATE score have to compulsorily register for Karnataka PGCET 2019 but they need not to appear in exam. Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019 Eligibility Criteria : Students who are applying for M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch.course through PGCET Counselling 2019 must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria in order to take admission
Candidate should have passed qualifying degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
Candidate with valid GATE score are eligible to apply and should have necessarily applied in Karnataka PGCET 2019 (GATE qualified candidates need not to appear in PGECET entrance test but should fill online application form)
Candidate seeking admission in Part-Time M.Tech/M.E.must have work experience of not less than 3 years.
Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling Procedure : Candidates who are seeking admission through PGCET Counselling 2019 have to follow the below mentioned procedure.
Step-1 Registration : Students who are applying for admission have to visit help centre for registration as per their ranks and schedule. KEA will set up help centres across the state for all the process regarding registration and counselling. Registration has to be done using PGECET 2019 application number. Student must enter all the details carefully as wrong information can lead to cancellation of admission/seat. During the process of registration, candidate will also be briefed with further counselling procedure by the officials of counselling conducting authority.
Step-2 Document Verification : Candidates need to visit the help centres for document verification as per their rank and schedule released by Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling organizing authority. Student must carry all the documents in original and their xerox copies to help centres for the purpose of verification. Student will be issued a document verification acknowledgement card and verification slip which needs to be retained during the entire admission process. Step-3 Assigning secret key for choice filling : Candidates who are found eligible after document verification will be allotted a high security key. All candidate must use this high security key to login into online portal of Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling for choice filling. Candidate must change their password right after logging through security key. Candidates will be able to see a seat matrix as per their rank and category. Students are required to carefully register their choice as per their order of preference and lock them before the last date failing which the choices will be locked automatically. Candidate can enter any number of choice available to them and can also modify the list till final submission.
Step-4 Mock allotment round : The mock seat allotment for Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019 will be held to make students familiar with the seat allotment procedure and give them an idea about their seat allotment. Student can change/modify their choices on the basis of mock allotment result. Candidate should note that mock seat allotment is not the process for allotting seats and is only an imitation of actual seat allotment process organized for familiarizing students of the actual counselling procedure.
Step-4 First round seat allotment result : Karnataka Exam Authority, the organizing authority of PGCET 2019 will allot seats on the basis of merit prepared from candidate’s score in PGCET/GATE exam, category and choice filled by them. Seats will be allotted in priority to GATE qualified candidates on all India basis without any reservation. After the allotment of seats to GATE qualified candidates, remaining seats will be offered to PGCET/GATE candidates on the basis of reservation criteria for Karnataka region/other reservation in the order of merit. Students who are allotted a seat have the option of withdrawing from counselling after accepting the seat, move to second round after accepting the seat or withdraw from the counselling without accepting the seat.
Student who is allotted a seat will be issued online, a provisional seat allotment letter and have to visit the allotted institute within specified date and time failing which their admission/seat will get cancel. Student who wish to appear in subsequent round of counselling have option of modifying their choice within stipulated date and time and the same will be intimated in official website of Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling.
Step-5 Second round counselling and seat allotment : Candidate who do not get any seat in the first round will become eligible for second round of counselling. Candidate can modify their choices before the seat allotment for round two begins. All the procedure and criteria remain the same for second round of seat allotment. Seats which remain vacant after second and final round will be converted into general merit category. All such seats will be allotted to students under GM category in the order of merit.
Step-6 Reporting to allotted institute : Student who will be allotted a seat after the first, second or special round (if any) have to visit the allotted institute within specified date and time. Student will be issued a provisional seat allotment letter which candidate can download by logging into Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling portal. Student must carry all the documents in original and their xerox copies while visiting the college and must deposit the requisite fees as charged by college.

Important guidelines to students : Candidates who are applying for admission through Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling should note the below mentioned points
Candidates who are applying for admission through GATE score are compulsorily required to apply online in Karnataka PGCET 2019 entrance test however they need not to appear in entrance test.
Candidates must visit the Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2019 help centres as per their rank and schedule only.
