Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2017- The allotment result for Karnataka PGCET 2017 round 1 has been announced by the admission authorities. The candidates will have to submit their PGCET number to obtain the allotment result. The status of the candidate's allotment can be checked after login. Option entry for the Karnataka PGCET 2017 counselling (round 1) was held from September 5, 2017. Candidates could fill the options till September 13, 2017 for the first round. Candidates could edit the options thereafter till the announcement seat allotment on September 13. Only applicants who had registered at any one designated help line centres, completed their documents verification between August 30 till September 7 could participate in the option entry and be eligible for seat allotment. The mock allotment result was also announced on September 11, 2017. The KEA has announced the eligibility criteria for the colleges participating in Karnataka PGCET 2017 counselling with details which can be downloaded below in this page. The authorities have also announced the seat matrix for the M.Tech courses offered through the counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2017. Round 2 of Karnataka PGCET 2017 counselling starts on September 22 till 25 when the seat allotment for the same will be announced. The Karnataka PGCET counselling will be held in two rounds. The final step for the Karnataka PGCET candidates after seat allotment is to report at their allotted colleges to confirm their admission. The result of Karnataka PGCET 2017 along with the merit list has been released on August 19, 2017. The score and ranks of the applicants are available in the merit list. Separate merit lists have been released for GATE qualified applicants, Karnataka PGCET 2017 applicants and Kuvempu/ Mysore University applicants.

Before applying for the Karnataka PGCET counselling, it is advisable for candidates to check the eligibility parameters announced by KEA. Karnataka PGCET 2017 Counselling Procedure
The candidates can follow the step by step process of Karnataka PGCET counselling 2017 given below for admissions:
Step 1 – Registration
After the release of the merit list, all of the applicants had to register themselves for the counselling session. The applicants had to report at the nearest help line and register their Karnataka PGCET 2017 number. The entire process of the counselling, choice filling, seat allotment, confirmation of admission and more are briefed to the applicants below. After completing the registration process, the applicants had to proceed further for the verification of documents.
Step 2 – Document Verification
While reporting at the help line centres, the applicants had to bring and submit their original documents for verification along with a set of photocopies. The photocopies also had to be attested by a Gazetted officer. The GATE qualified applicants/ Non-Karnataka applicants/ Sponsored applicants/ QIP applicants/ Part time applicants had to report at the Bangalore help line centre. If the applicants failed to bring the required documents then they were not allowed to participate in the counselling session.

Step 3 – Allotment of Unique Keyword
The verified applicants were issued a verification slip and unique keyword. All of the details present in the verification slip had to be checked by the applicants and if there are any discrepancies found then the Chief Nodal Officer of the respective help line centre had to be informed immediately. The applicants had to note that the unique keyword consisted of eight alphanumeric characters printed on the verification slip. The keyword was unique for each applicant and had to be kept safely since it will be required during login for the choice filling.
Step 4 – Registration for Option Entry -
The applicants will have to register themselves for the option entry process. The steps for the registration process is listed below
The applicants will have to login using their Karnataka PGCET 2017 application number and the issued unique keyword.
A password has to be generated by the applicants which should be of minimum eight characters atleast one alphabet and one number.
The applicants will have to fill in their valid mobile number and email ID. A secret question must also be answered by the applicants.
The login ID and password for the counselling session will be generated which has to be kept safe by the applicants.
Step 5 – Process of Option Entry
Before the process of option entry starts, the applicants are advised to print out the “Detailed Option Work Sheet” which will consist of the detailed information about the group type, college, option number and more. This will allow the applicants to select their choices more easily during the option entry process. The option entry for the first round was held from September 5, 2017 (from 6:00 p.m) to September 11, 2017 (10:00 a.m). Candidates could fill in their choice of programme and institute. For the second round, the option entry will take place from September 22, 2017 (from 4:00 p.m) to September 25, 2017 (upto 10:00 a.m). While filling the choices, there will be no restriction on the number of choices and candidates can fill as many choices as they can. The applicants will have to enter their priority number from 1 to 999 against each course of particular college of specific course stream as per their preference. The priority number is a unique number for each course. The applicants will have to save their options and log out. The print out of the filled option form has to be taken before submission for future use.
Step 6 – Mock Allotment
KEA has released the result of the mock allotment to let the applicants get a detailed idea regarding how the seat allotment process of Karnataka PGCET 2017 works. The candidates will have to log in using their PGCET number to check the mock allotment result. Seats have been allotted to the applicants as per his/her selected choices. After checking which seats are allotted through the selected choices, the applicants will be able to change or edit their options before the final allotment.
Step 7 – Karnataka PGCET Seat Allotment 2017
The seat allotment process of Karnataka PGCET 2017 will be held in online mode. The first round of Karnataka PGCET Seat Allotment 2017 has been announced on September 13, 2017 (5:00 p.m) while the result of the second round will be announced on September 25, 2017 (after 6:00 p.m). All of the registered applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be allotted seats into the participating institutes. Allotment of seats will be done as per the ranking of the applicants in the qualifying examination and his/her selected preferences. GATE qualified applicants will be given preference and the vacant seats will be allotted to those applicants who have qualified Karnataka PGCET 2017 applicants. After the second round of allotment, the vacant seats will be converted to general seats for the third round of allotment.
Step 8 – Reporting at the Allotted Institute
All of the allotted applicants will be required to pay the fees to confirm their admission. After the successful payment, the applicants will have to download the admission letter of Karnataka PGCET 2017 and report at their allotted institute. The applicants will have to login and report to KEA regarding the joining of college after completing their admission formalities.The last date for reporting to the college for candidates who have been alloted seats at the end of the first round is September 18, 2017 (before 5:30 p.m), while for second round it is September 28, 2017 (before 5:30 p.m).
