Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2018 – Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will be conducting the Karnataka PGCET 2018 counselling. The eligible candidates will be required to register for the Karnataka PGCET counselling process at the nearest help line centre. Only those candidates who have qualified either GATE or Karnataka PGCET examination will be able to participate in Karnataka PGCET 2018 counselling. The original documents of the candidates will be verified after which they will be able to select their preferred choices of colleges and courses. Three rounds of seat allotment will be held. Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2018
The candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria determined by KEA before applying for the Karnataka PGCET 2018 counselling. The following conditions must be carefully read over and checked by the candidates:
UVCE – This means that the candidate will be eligible only for University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering.
MSRUAS – Will be eligible only for M. S. Ramaiah University
JU – Eligible only in Jadvapur University
RU – The candidates will be eligible only in Jain University
PESU – Will be eligible only for PES University
Process of Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2018
The candidates will have to follow the given steps to complete the Karnataka PGCET 2018 counselling process:
Step 1 – Registration
Those candidates whose names are listed in the merit list will have to register for the counselling of Karnataka PGCET 2018. Help line centres will be made available for the registration process. The candidates will have to report to the nearest help line centre and register.
Step 2 – Verification of Documents
During the reporting at the help centres, the candidates will have to submit their original documents along with a set of photocopies (attested by a Gazetted officer) for verification. If the candidates do not bring their documents, then their candidature will be cancelled and they will not be allowed to take part in the counselling procedure.

Step 3 – Allotment of Unique Keyword
After the completion of the document verification, a verification slip and unique keyword will be given to the successful candidates. The information present in the slip has to be checked by the candidates and in case of any discrepancies, the candidates will have to inform the Chief Nodal Officer of the respective help line centre. The unique keyword will consist of eight alphanumeric characteristics printed on the verification slip. The keyword was unique for each applicant and has to be kept safely since it will be required during the login for the choice filling process.
Step 4 – Registration for Choice Filling
The verified candidates will have to register for the choice filling process of Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2018. The listed steps can be followed by the candidates for registration:
Log in has to be done by the candidates using their Karnataka PGCET 2018 application number and the unique keyword.
Next, the candidates will have to generate a password which needs to be of atleast eight characters consisting of minimum one alphabet and number.
Valid mobile number and email ID has to be submitted by the candidates. A secret question also has to be answered by the candidates.
After submitting the above mentioned particulars, the login ID and password will be generated for the candidates.
Step 5 – Choice Filling and Locking
A print out of the “Detailed Option Work Sheet” which will consist of the detailed information about the college, group type, option number and more has to be printed out by the candidates for practice before the choice filling process begins. The candidates will have to first select their choices of colleges and courses in the work sheet. There will be no restriction in the number of choices to be selected. The candidates will be allowed to select as many choices as possible in the order of their preference. The priority number has to be written against the course of a participating institute. After saving their choices, the candidates will have to save and log out. The print out of the filled worksheet has to be taken out for future use.
Step 6 – Mock Allotment
A mock allotment will be conducted by the authorities to let the candidates be familiar with the allotment process. The result of the mock allotment of Karnataka PGCET 2018 will be released in online mode. The candidates will be able to check their allotment after submitting their Karnataka PGCET 2018 application number. The allotment will be done according to the merit and choice filling of the candidates. With the announcement of mock allotment, the candidates will be given a chance to change or edit their choices so that they are closer to getting allotted to their preferred seats.
Step 7 – Seat Allotment of Karnataka PGCET 2018
KEA will be announcing the result of Karnataka PGCET 2018 seat allotment in online mode. Three rounds of seat allotment will be conducted by the authorities. The candidates will be able to check their allotment result after logging into their account. The registered candidates will be allotted according to their ranking in the qualifying examination and preferences selected during choice filling. It is to be remembered that GATE qualified candidates will be given preference and Karnataka PGCET 2018 qualified candidates will be allotted to the remaining seats. Following the conclusion of the second round of allotment, the remaining seats will be converted to general seats for the third round of allotment.
Step 8 – Reporting at Allotted Institute
The selected candidates will have to report to their allotted institute to complete their admission formalities. Before reporting to the allotted institute, the candidates have to make sure that they pay the fees and download the admission letter.
