IIT Roorkee offers a merit-cum means scholarship to its students. Eligible UG students get a minimum INR 1000 per month for 10 months per academic year with a refund of remaining tuition fees. As for a M.Sc student, he/she will get a minimum of INR 1000 for 10 months per academic year. The scholarship is for normal course details and for four years for the IDD program. The merit scholarship covers only 25% of the strength of the class.

Below are the eligibility requirements for the merit cum means scholarship:
Candidates should be enrolling in the program of B.Tech, B.Arch., Integrated Dual Degree, Integrated Master of Technology, Integrated Master of Science, and BS-MS programmes admitted through JEE (Advanced) or M.Sc. programmes admitted through JAM.
Students should belong to General or OBC or EWS category.
Candidates parent’s gross income must not exceed INR 5,00,000 for a year.
Applicants CGPA and YGPA should be 7.0 or above. The scholarship is not available for fresher students.

The IIT Roorkee offers this James Thomasan Scholarship to the students whose admissions are based though JEE Advanced. Candidates who will secure upto All India Rank (AIR) 250 are only eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is granted to the highest qualified students. Candidates can avail this scholarship only at one time.
James Thomasan Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should check the eligibility requirements for James Thomasan scholarship:
Candidates should be enrolled in the program of B.Tech., B.Arch., Integrated Dual Degree, Integrated Master of Technology, Integrated Master of Science, and BS-MS programmes admitted through JEE Advanced.

IIT Roorkee offers the scholarship for higher education for its students. The Inspire SHE Scholarship offers an amount of INR 80,000 per annum. Each student will get an INR 5,000 per month with a total of INR 60,000. All the SHE scholars are required to do summer research projects from any recognized research centre across India. Candidates get a grant of INR 20,000 for summer time mentorship per year.
Inspire SHE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should know the eligibility criteria of the Inspire SHE scholarship before applying for it:
Candidates who are in the top 1% in their class 12 or the qualifying exams like JEE Main or JEE Advanced or AIMPT.
Students' parents must have income not exceeding INR 5,00,000 per year.
Students who have been selected under Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) and pursuing Bachelor/Master courses in Natural Sciences.
The scholarship is eligible for candidates pursuing the Natural and Basic Science courses at the B.Sc., B.S., B.Sc. with Research (4 years), Integrated M.Sc and M.S. courses.
Inspire SHE Scholarship Documents Required
Below are the documents required while applying for the Inspire SHE scholarship:

Endorsement Certificate signed by the respective person
Eligibility note or Advisory note (not mandatory)
Certificate specifying the rank or award in the JEE Main or JEE Advanced or any other qualifying examination.
The IIT Roorkee offers Dr S K Goel And Mrs. Kusum Goel scholarship from 2022. Each student has been added every year. In 2025, four students will receive this scholarship. The scholarship amount offered is INR 2,00,000 every year. The candidate will get a scholarship for the program duration (4 years).

Below are the above mentioned scholarship requirements:
Candidates should be of general and OBC category.
Students who want to avail this scholarship, their parents' gross salary income must stay in between INR 5,00,000 to 6,00,000.
For continuation of this scholarship, students should maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 at the end of the year.
Dr S K Goel And Mrs. Kusum Goel Scholarship Documents Required

No, your son is not eligible for OBC NCL for IIT JEE because you fall in the "creamy layer" occupational category, regardless of your current employment status or family income. Students whose family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs annually and they are not belong to the "creamy layer".

If you take an additional exam in mathematics from an open board, as you want to pursue engineering, you will have two mark sheets which is not acceptable for JEE Mains or Advanced or JOSSA. NTA and IIT require single 10+2 certificate with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
