What Is NTA Score in JEE Main Results - NTA released the JEE Main 2026 results only in the form of NTA score. The NTA score in JEE Mains result 2026 refers to the percentile score. Candidates often wonder about the NTA score in the JEE Mains result 2026. The percentile score is determined based on JEE Main 2026 normalised scores. This normalisation process is done to ensure that all candidates have an equal score regardless of the difficulty of the multiple sets of JEE Main 2026 question papers across various sessions. The National Testing Agency conducted the JEE Main exam for the January session between January 21 to 29, 2026, whereas the April 2026 session will be held between April 2 to 9, 2026. NTA will follow a normalisation formula to calculate the NTA score in JEE Mains 2026. The authority announced the JEE Main 2026 results on February 16, 2026, on the official website. Candidates can check their NTA score in the JEE Main scorecard. Check how to calculate the JEE Main NTA score in the article below.
The NTA score in the JEE Main result is the aggregate percentile of the candidate in both sessions of the JEE Main exam for all three subjects. The combined scores of both sessions in the JEE Main 2026 exam are converted into a final percentile score, which is called the JEE Main NTA score.

NTA score in the JEE Main exam works to minimise the disparity in scores that may be caused due to differences in the difficulty levels of the multiple sessions of the exam. NTA considers the candidate’s raw score(actual score in the exam) and applies the Normalisation formula to convert it into the NTA score in the JEE Main result.
The authority will apply the NTA score formula for JEE Main to calculate the NTA score in the JEE Main exam for normalisation.
Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) equal or less than the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)
The calculation for the Raw scores, the subject-wise and the total NTA score in the JEE Main result are given below.
Raw Scores: Marks obtained in each session and subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) of the JEE Main exam calculated for all correct and incorrect answers, totalled up to obtain a total raw JEE Main 2026 score.
Total Percentile (T1P): | (100 x No. of candidates from the session with a raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Mathematics Percentile (M1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than than M1 score in Mathematics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Physics Percentile (P1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Chemistry Percentile (C1P): | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
