What Is NTA Score in JEE Main Results- NTA released the JEE Main 2025 results in the form of NTA score only. The NTA score in JEE Mains result 2025 refers to the percentile score. It is natural to wonder what is NTA score in the JEE Mains result 2025. It is derived based on JEE Main 2025 normalised scores. This process is done to ensure that all candidates have an equal score regardless of the difficulty of the multiple sets of JEE Main 2025 question papers. National Testing Agency conducted the JEE Main exam for the January session from January 22 to 30, 2025 (except January 25, 26, and 27). NTA will follow a normalisation formula to calculate the NTA score in JEE Mains 2025. The authority announced the JEE Main 2025 results on February 11, 2025.
As per this year’s JEE Main marks vs percentile, candidates had to obtain a score above 270 to get 99.9 percentile and above. This ensures their admission chances in top engineering colleges such as IITs and NITs.

The NTA score in the JEE Main result is the aggregate percentile of the candidate in both sessions of the JEE Main exam for all three subjects. The combined scores of both sessions in the JEE Main 2025 exam are converted into a final percentile score, which is called the JEE Main NTA score.
NTA score in the JEE Main exam works to minimise the disparity in scores that may be caused due to differences in the difficulty levels of the multiple sessions of the exam. NTA considers the candidate’s raw score(actual score in the exam) and applies the Normalisation formula to convert it into the NTA score in the JEE Main result.
The authority will apply the NTA score formula for JEE Main to calculate the NTA score in the JEE Main exam for normalisation.
Percentile Score of a Candidate = 100 x (Number of candidates who secured a raw score (or actual score) equal or less than the candidate)/(Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)
The calculation for the Raw scores, the subject-wise and the total NTA score in the JEE Main result are given below.
Raw Scores: Marks obtained in each session and subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) of the JEE Main exam calculated for all correct and incorrect answers, totalled up to obtain a total raw JEE Main 2025 score.
JEE Main Percentile Scores for each of the subject and total percentile score
Total Percentile (T1P): | (100 x No. of candidates from the session with a raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Mathematics Percentile (M1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than than M1 score in Mathematics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Physics Percentile (P1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session
Chemistry Percentile (C1P): | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
There are several advantages to the NTA score in the JEE Main 2025 result
Equal and Unbiased Result: NTA conducts the JEE Main 2025 exam in multiple sessions across different days. Each session of the JEE Main exam will have separate question papers with varying degrees of difficulty. Hence, the authority implements the JEE Main normalisation procedure to give all the JEE Main 2025 candidates a fair and equal chance in the exam. The NTA score in the JEE Mains result 2025 ensures that the scores of all the candidates are at the same level to keep the JEE Main 2025 results fair.
Easier to break ties: The NTA score in the JEE Main result helps the authority break ties in the raw score more easily. The guidelines for the JEE Main 2025 tie-breaking are

Hello,
Generally, UPES( University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) might have different admission criteria depending on the specific program. Some may require specific JEE Main scores, while others might consider alternative criteria like their own entrance exams (UPES Engineering Aptitude Test), merit in 12th grade or any other factors. Therefore, even if you didn’t qualify for JEE Mains, you might still be eligible for certain programs at UPES. It’s best to check official UPES site for accurate admission requirements.
I hope this answers helps you!
Hello
Here is the short guidance for you to score well and prepare for JEE
Stick to a smart routine – Prioritize high-weightage topics and revise daily with a focused timetable.
Solve PYQs & mock tests – Practice like it’s the real thing; analyze mistakes without panic.
Quality over quantity – Understand concepts deeply rather than rushing through chapters.
Stay healthy & rested – Your brain needs sleep, water, and breaks to perform at its best.
Trust your journey – Stay calm, believe in your preparation, and avoid comparing with others.
Hello
Since you’re reappearing for your Class 12 boards in 2026, that will be counted as your official passing year. So, you will be eligible to write JEE Advanced in 2026 and 2027. Although you submitted the boards in 2025, that attempt won’t be considered due to the compartment. JEE Advanced rules allow 2 attempts in 2 consecutive years after passing 12th. So you still have both chances left, which is great! Just make sure you meet the other eligibility conditions too. Keep your focus strong, you’ve got this!
