Candidates interested in pursuing direct admission to engineering colleges in India must be aware of the different engineering courses and their admission processes. Some of the entrance exams conducted in India are JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, VITEEE, BITSAT, KEAM, and SRMJEE. The undergraduate degree is commonly known as Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). Its duration is 4 years. The postgraduate program is called Master of Engineering (M.E) or Master of Technology (M.Tech.), and it is a 2-year-long program. There are various specialisations available in engineering.   1. Qualification - The applicant must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. Recognised boards include CBSE, ICSE, State boards, NIOS and other similar ones.

  2. Minimum percentage - Candidates must have a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 examinations.

  3. Compulsory subjects - It is compulsory for students to have PCM i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12. English is also made a compulsory subject by some colleges.
