The undergraduate degree is commonly known as Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). Its duration is 4 years. The postgraduate program is called Master of Engineering (M.E) or Master of Technology (M. Tech) and it is a 2-year long program. There are various specializations available in engineering. There are some private colleges or universities which offer direct engineering admission. But the students must meet the BTech direct admission eligibility criteria to take admission or else their admission may get rejected. The eligibility criteria may differ from college to college. Qualification - The applicant must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. Recognised boards include CBSE, ICSE, State boards, NIOS and other similar ones.

Compulsory subjects - It is compulsory for students to have PCM i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12. English is also made a compulsory subject by some colleges.
Age limit - The applicant must be at least 17 years old. There is no age limit for applying for admission in engineering.
