Every college has a placement and training cell which organizes the placements drive to assist its students in obtaining job offers from well-known companies. Usually the placement process begins in the final year, and it is conducted in a structured and organized manner. The placement process involves the following steps:

• Before the placement process begins, companies are invited to conduct pre-placement talks to provide information about their organization, job profiles, and other details to the students.
• Interested students have to register with the placement cell of their institute. The placement cell then verifies the eligibility of the students based on academic criteria set by the companies.
• Students have to submit their resumes to the placement cell, which are then shared with the recruiting companies that are participating in the placement process.
• After that, recruiting companies shortlist candidates based on their resumes, academic performance, and other criterias.
• Many companies take written tests that assess their technical knowledge, reasoning, and communication skills.
• The candidates who clear the written tests are then called for group discussions. Group discussion is to assess the candidate's communication skills, ability to work in a team, and their knowledge of current affairs.
• After that, candidates are invited for personal interviews. The personal interview round is conducted to assess the candidate's technical skills, problem-solving ability, and overall suitability for the job.

NIT Patna: With 359 students getting placed in the 2021 placement drive, NIT Patna has maintained a good placement record over the years. NIT Trichy Highest Package: With a total of 563 students from the UG 4-year programme placed in the year 2020-21 NIT Trichy has an impressive placement record, with many top companies recruiting students from the institute. The highest package of NIT Trichy offered to students was Rs. 43 lakhs per annum.
