JCECE Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board will release the JCECE 2026 eligibility criteria on the official website, jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in. Aspirants seeking admission to the B.Tech course in Jharkhand must meet the JCECE eligibility conditions. Students who fail to meet the eligibility criteria for JCECE 2026 will not be considered for admission. The authority will announce the dates for the JCECE 2026 registration online.

JEE Main 2026 is expected to be held in two sessions. NTA holds the entrance exam in two sessions to provide the following benefits: 

  • Candidates will get two opportunities to improve their scores in the exam if they are not able to give their best in the first attempt. 
  • In the first attempt, the candidates will get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which can be improve while attempting the test for the second time. This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and the candidates would not have to waste an entire year.
  • If anyone misses the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the board examination or health issues), then candidate can appear for the second session. 
  • A candidate is not required to take both the sessions, however, if someone appears in both the sessions, then their best NTA scores will be considered for merit list preparation.

JCECE Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age Limit

  • For admission to B.Tech and B.Sc. programs in Agriculture, Dairy Technology, Forestry & Horticulture, as well as B.F.Sc., applicants must meet the age requirement of being between 17 and 22 years old as of July 1st in the year of admission. There is a relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

  • For the Animal Husbandry program (B.V.Sc & A.H.), applicants should fall within the age range of 17 to 25 years old as of December 31st in the year of admission. Similar to the other programs, SC/ST/OBC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years.

JCECE 2026 Eligibility Criteria: Domicile

Applicants seeking admission are mandated to fulfil the domicile requirement set forth by the Raj Bhasa, Government of Jharkhand, necessitating them to be permanent or local residents of Jharkhand. To demonstrate their eligibility, they are obliged to possess and present a valid Local Resident Certificate, issued by the competent authority, during the JCECE counselling process.

Generally an income certificate isn't required for the JEE Main registration, but if you want to claim the EWS quota, then you need this. You must provide the certificate, issued by a government authority, as proof of your family's income being below the specified limit for the reservation category you wish to apply under.

Yes, as JEE does accepts improvement examination scores, so you must go for it but most of the state boards have already conducted or are conducting their 2025 improvement exams. If you have already given your improvement that's fine. If you have not given improvement this year then you can take your improvement next year.
