Hello Shrutika,
With a 76 percentile in JEE Main, your chances of admission to top-tier NITs or IIITs may be limited, as their cutoffs are generally higher.
However, you can still get admission in:
Some state engineering colleges where the cutoff percentile is lower.
Many private engineering colleges across India that accept JEE Main scores.
Newer or less competitive NITs or government colleges might consider lower ranks depending on the branch.
To improve your chances:
Participate in the JoSAA and CSAB counseling fully.
Consider private universities and deemed universities that accept JEE Main scores.
Look for colleges offering your preferred branch with the available rank.
Your choice of branch and state quota may also affect admission chances.
I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
hi,
With an SC category rank of around 40,000 in JEE Mains, you still have a good chance to get into some decent NITs or IIITs, especially in branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Biotechnology. Popular branches like Computer Science might be tougher to get with that rank, but other engineering fields often have closing ranks closer to your position.
Make sure you participate in the JoSAA counselling properly, list your preferred colleges and branches carefully, and keep an eye on seat availability. Also, don’t forget to check if your state quota can help you get a seat in state colleges. If government colleges don’t work out, there are private colleges where you can use your JEE rank to apply too.
hi
With a CRL (Common Rank List) rank of 985559 in JEE Mains, it is quite difficult to get admission into top-tier government engineering colleges like NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs, especially through the general category.
However, if you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) or if you're from a state with lesser competition, you might have a small chance in state-level government colleges or through management quota in private colleges. You should also check if your state has its own engineering counselling process (like MP DTE, Punjab PTU, etc.) where JEE score is considered.
If you don’t get a seat in the first few rounds, consider applying through later rounds or for spot counselling—sometimes seats are left vacant.
Hello,
I hope you are doing well. As per your mentioned query, before starting any preparation analyse the syllabus first. It is the primary objective of any competitive exam.
