JEE Main 2026 Expected Cutoff for JEE Advanced Qualification: The expected JEE Main 2026 cutoff for JEE Advanced qualification for candidates aspiring to gain admission to the IITs. For the General (UR) category, the trend of the projected cut off percentile will range between 93 and 95. The applicants of the OBC-NCL group might require a percentile of between 79 and 81 whereas the EWS group cutoff will likely be between 80 and 82. In the case of ST candidates, the qualifying percentile is projected to be less than unreserved ones. The cutoff of JEE Advanced depends on a number of factors, namely the general level of JEE Main examination, the number of candidates that took it, and the total number of vacancies in different IITs. General category candidates must have a higher range of scores whereas the reserved categories have lower cutoff scores.

In reference to JEE Main 2026, it is recommended by experts that the cutoff of JEE Advanced eligibility can be 90 percentile to 95 percentile amongst the general candidates and a little less among EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST candidates. Candidates must know that they have to do more than simply pass the cutoff to qualify to take JEE advanced. The candidates should have scored more than the minimum required marks or percentile in JEE Main 2026 to be eligible; it could be estimated based on the cutoffs in JEE Main in the past years.
The National Testing Agency will announce the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result on April 20, 2026. The 2.5 lakh candidates, who are on the list of the best, are willing to appear in the JEE Advanced 2026 examination in case of JEE Main last year. It is noteworthy that the entire set of applicants has to get to a specific level of score or outdo the JEE Advanced cutoff.

The expected JEE Main 2026 cutoff percentile is 93–95 for General, 80–82 for EWS, 79–81 for OBC-NCL, 60–63 for SC, 47–50 for ST, and 0.001–1 for UR-PwD. These cutoffs determine eligibility for JEE Advanced, while actual college admission depends on rank and counselling. According to JEE Advanced eligibility 2.5 lakh rule, the entire 2.5 lakh best students of all categories are allowed to attend JEE Advanced. Ranking of the candidates according to the percentile marks is done under the category-wise and each category has got set cutoffs. All applicants with a 30 mark or above will be in a position to do JEE Advanced. Because of the occurrence of tied percentiles, the overall number of successful candidates may reach slightly over 2.5 lakh.
The clearance in JEE Advanced is not a guarantee to admission in IIT. In the total number of eligible applicants 2.5 lakh:
Each branch and category will contain approximately 1300016000 IIT seats.
Around 0.5 to 1 percent of the JEE Advanced examinees (about 12,500 to 25,000 candidates) get an IIT seat.
The remaining 2.25+ lakh is also occupied with JoSAA counselling of NIT, IIIT and GFTI allocations.
