If two or more candidates get the same marks in the exam, they should follow the MHT CET tie-breaking criteria. The authority had already decided the process to be followed in such a situation. Below is the process to be followed for dealing with a tie after MHT CET 2026 results:
Applicants with the fewest incorrect attempts in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology will be given preference.
If the tie remains, students with the lesser incorrect answers in Mathematics and Biology will be selected.
If the tie still continues, candidates with fewer incorrect answers in chemistry will be ranked higher.
If the tie remains, preference will be given to aspirants with higher scores in class 12th board examination.
If the tie remains, the older candidate in age will be given preference.

MHT-CET is a computer based test conducted only at allotted exam centers, not from home or personal PCs, Students from outside Maharashtra can appear for the exam at selected centres during application. Non-Maharashtra candidates usually can't claim state quota seats through CAP and often use JEE Main scores instead.
