    JoSAA 2026 - The registration for JoSAA 2026 is to start from June 2, 2026. The authority will publish the complete JoSAA 2026 counselling dates on the official website, josaa.nic.in. Students need to have a valid score in JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced exam to participate in JoSAA counselling. The authority levies a certain fee that candidates need to pay for seat acceptance. Candidates need to participate in JoSAA 2026 registration & choice filling process. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conductthe six rounds of JoSAA 2026 counselling for admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.     JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2026

    There is no specific eligibility criteria for JoSAA 2026. Candidates have to qualify the JEE Mains exam or JEE Advanced 2026 to participate in JoSAA counselling. Candidates also have to met the specific criteria of the participating institutes. If the required criteria are not fulfilled, the candidate will not be allotted the seat to the institute offering B.Tech admission. Below is a table consisting eligibility criteria for JoSAA 2026:

    The authorities will commence the JoSAA 2026 registration on June 2, 2026, on the official website. All the eligible candidates are requested to register for the JoSAA 2026 before the last date. Candidates who have a valid JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced rank will be able to log in and register for the JoSAA counselling procedure. Candidates need to follow the steps for JoSAA counselling registration below.

    Steps for JoSAA 2026 Registration & Choice Filling

    Candidates can refer to the step-by-step process of JoSAA registration and choice filling here-

    Step 1: Registration - In the first step, the candidates need to complete the JoSAA 2026 registration process. To register for JoSAA 2026:

    • Go to the official website of JoSAA.

    • Click on the registration link.

    • Enter the JEE Main 2026 roll number and password to register.

    • JEE Advanced 2026 qualified candidates can use their corresponding password to log in.

    • Enter basic details such as the candidate’s nationality, state code of eligibility, gender, and more.

    • Review the details and reconfirm them.

    • No personal information, except for contact information, can be modified by the candidates.

    Step 2: JoSAA Choice Filling - Candidates will have to fill in their choice of courses and colleges from the available list. The courses and colleges for which the candidates are eligible according to their qualifications (JEE Main or JEE Advanced) will be listed online. The selection of courses and colleges should be done in order of preference.

    Step 3: Choice Locking - Finally, the candidates have to lock their selected choices. It has to be noted that no changes will be accepted once the choices are locked by the candidates. A printout of the locked choices has to be taken for future reference.

    JoSAA Rank List 2026

    Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the JoSAA 2026 rank list online. The JoSAA rank list is usually released in the form of round-wise opening and closing ranks. A separate rank list will be also published for different categories. JoSAA counselling opening and closing rank lists will be prepared based on marks secured in JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced 2026.

    JoSAA Mock Allotment 2026

    The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will announce the JoSAA mock allotment 2026 on the official website. The authority release the mock allotment of JoSAA 2026 in six different rounds. It helps candidates know their admission chances into their preferred colleges. If the colleges and courses allotted during mock allotment are not satisfactory, then the candidates can accordingly modify their order preference. Candidates will be given time to make the necessary changes as JoSAA allotment is not final.

    JoSAA Counselling 2026

    Eligible candidates need to participate in the counselling of JoSAA 2026 to get admission into the participating institutes. The JoSAA 2026 counselling process will consist of registration, choice filling, mock allotment, final allotment, etc. The authorities will conduct six rounds of JoSAA counselling 2026 to provide admissions to all eligible candidates.     What after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2026?

    Candidates will be allotted seats based on their JEE Main/JEE Advanced merit, preferences, category, and availability of seats. The allotted candidates must download their provisional allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 30,000. After the fee is paid, the candidates must verify their documents at the Reporting Centre (RC).

    The allotted candidates will be able to select any of the following options according to their preference after the JoSAA seat allotment results 2026 are announced by the authorities:

    • Floating: If the candidates wish to accept the allotted seat but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher preferred institutes or courses, then they will have to select this option.

    • Freezing: Candidates have to select this option if they are satisfied with their allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds of counselling.

    • Sliding: The candidates who choose this option will confirm their allotment but will also be open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute.

    After the document verification is completed, the candidates must report to their respective allotted institutes to confirm their admission. The required fee also has to be paid by the candidates.

    JoSAA Cutoff 2026

    The opening and closing ranks at which candidates will get admission to the participating institutes (IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc.) form the JoSAA 2026 cutoff. The authorities will release the JoSAA opening and closing ranks for rounds 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 on the official website.

    JoSAA Reporting Centres 2026

    Candidates need to verify their documents at the reporting centres of JoSAA 2026 after the JoSAA allotment process. The authorities will release the list of reporting centres on the official website. Candidates can check the important points related to JoSAA reporting centres here-

    • Candidates need to physically present for the verification of documents at the JoSAA reporting centres 2026.

    • Candidates must carry the original and photocopies of all the required documents for verification.

    • Different reporting centres will be available for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and IITs.

    • Candidates must report to the reporting centres according to their allotted institutes. There will be separate institutes for the NIT+ system (NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs) and IITs.

    • After the verification process is completed, candidates must complete their admission procedure by reporting to their allotted institute.

    • In case of a change in the seat allotment of a candidate from the NIT+ system to IITs or the other way around, then the candidate will have to report to the changed institute. Failing to report will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
