The detailed WBJEE 2026 exam analysis for both papers has been updated in this section. Our experts at Careers360 reviewed the question paper and prepared a complete analysis covering overall difficulty level, question distribution, important topics, lengthy sections, and paper pattern.
The WBJEE 2026 subject-wise analysis for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry has been updated below. The analysis includes topic-wise difficulty level, weightage of chapters, and student feedback for each subject.
The WBJEE 2026 Mathematics paper was overall moderate to difficult
Compared to the 2025 WBJEE Mathematics paper, this year's paper was slightly longer and calculation-intensive
Calculus had high weightage, with questions being asked from Continuity & Differentiability, Application of derivatives, Integrals, and Differential Equations.
Algebra also had high weightage, especially from matrices, determinants, complex numbers, and probability
Coordinate geometry maintained consistent weightage with questions from straight lines, circles, parabolas, and 3D geometry
Questions required strong conceptual clarity along with fast calculation, making time management an important factor
The paper had a good balance of direct formula-based questions and application-oriented problems
Vector Algebra and 3D geometry questions were comparatively easier and scoring
A few tricky questions were asked from functions. Limits and definite integrals
Probability and permutations & combinations questions were moderately difficult and involved careful interpretation
Numerical calculations in calculus were lengthy compared to the physics and chemistry sections
Overall, the WBJEE 2026 Mathematics was slightly tougher than WBJEE 2025 Mathematics and close to the difficulty level of WBJEE 2024 Mathematics

The WBJEE 2026 Physics paper was overall easy to moderate in difficulty level.
Compared to WBJEE 2025 Physics, this year’s paper was slightly more conceptual and had fewer direct formula-based questions.
Semiconductor Electronics gained high weightage in WBJEE 2026 Physics with around 4 questions asked compared to only 2 questions last year.
Fluid Mechanics was another surprise area in WBJEE 2026 Physics, as nearly 4 questions appeared from this unit, which is higher than the usual trend.
Oscillations and SHM, which are generally important for WBJEE Physics, were completely absent this year.
Gravitation also did not appear in the WBJEE 2026 Physics paper, which is considered unusual.
Mechanics and Electromagnetism continued to dominate WBJEE 2026 Physics, maintaining the long-term exam trend.
Numerical problems in WBJEE 2026 Physics were simpler and less calculation-heavy compared to previous years. Most numerical questions required only single-step calculations, making the paper more time-friendly.
A well-prepared student could comfortably attempt around 32–34 questions out of 40 in WBJEE 2026 Physics.
Overall, WBJEE 2026 Physics was slightly easier than WBJEE 2024 Physics and nearly on the same level as WBJEE 2025 Physics.
The Chemistry section of WBJEE 2026 was overall easy to moderate.
The questions were more concept-based and had fewer direct memory-based questions.
Organic chemistry had more weightage; questions were asked from topics like reaction mechanism, substitution reactions, elimination, aromatic compounds, carbonyl compounds, and isomerism.
In physical chemistry, questions were asked on topics like thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, solutions, electrochemistry, and the mole concept.
Inorganic chemistry was largely NCERT-based, with questions from coordination compounds, chemical bonding, d-f block, and p-block compounds.
Numerical questions were simple and required very short calculations, so the paper was time-efficient.
Overall, WBJEE 2026 Chemistry was the scoring section and slightly easier than the physics section
