Top 5 Tips to Crack JEE Main 2021
Starting early:
Maths is one of the tough subjects among the three and requires a lot of hard work and time. So, starting early is the best solution as it will not create any panic at the last moment. Last moment pressure is harmful to one’s mind as the person could do things wrongly in spite of knowing the correct answer or can do the calculations wrongly resulting in negative marking in exam.
Make a schedule:
You need to practise regularly to increase your speed and accuracy and for that planning is the first step to achieve any goal. Make a list of topics you need to do in a day and at the end of the day mark it done. To make the study process more efficient you can check your performance through online test series which are based on the exam pattern. There are 15-18 tests papers for JEE Mains and 9-10 tests papers of JEE Advance, after giving tests you will get your performance report which will help you find your area of improvements and your speed. To score good marks one should do JEE Main mock test daily for a month so he/she can improve his mistakes and also increase his speed to do calculations.
JEE Main Weightage for maths topics:
Algebra:
Emphasize on algebra as it is the highest scoring topic. It consists of various sub-topics such as
Probability.
Quadratic Equations and Expressions.
In this topic, you need to remember the formulas thoroughly. Algebra is the most fascinating topic and one can score good marks easily understanding the basic concepts. The questions are easy to solve and can be done in a short time if you have done good practise.
Minimal amount of questions are asked in the JEE exam from this section. To clear this section basic concepts are needed to be cleared and this section comes in many competitive exams so it should not be ignored. You need to remember the formulas thoroughly to clear this section and to remember them you can make a list of formulas topic wise so it would be easier when you revise.
Analytical Geometry:
It is the method of analysing shapes. You need to practise a lot of questions based on curves, lines to score good marks. It is the maximum scoring topic, you just need to learn the formulas well and apply them carefully. Some major topics under this section are:
Straight lines
Circle
Ellipse
Parabola
Hyperbola
Calculus:
Calculus is considered as the most important part of the Mathematics section for JEE Mains. It is divided into two parts:
Definite Calculus
Functions
Limit
Application Derivative
Continuity
Differentiability
Integral Calculus
Differential equations
Definite Integration
Indefinite Integration
Area under curves
Before starting integral calculus your concepts of definite calculus should be cleared it would be easier and faster to understand. It covers around 35% of the total question in the exam. Be up-to-date with the formulas and method of working in calculus.
Vectors & Miscellaneous:
This section has the least weightage but full marks can be scored by remembering only the formulas. The questions asked from this section are not complex and very easy to solve in less time.
Tips for preparation:
Previous Years’ Papers:
The most important suggestion would be to analyse the JEE Main question papers for Maths thoroughly. This will give you an idea of the topics you need to focus on and the ones that you can leave or briefly go through.
Learn Theory First:
The most important recommendation for cracking the JEE Main 2020 Mathematics Exam is to first learn the theory well from study materials and then revise it regularly. Since you have very limited time and have Physics and Chemistry to study as well, you can first study from NCERT XI and XII textbooks and then solve the previous year questions.

Hello aspirant,
It is possible to prepare for both JEE (Engineering) and NEET, particularly for Physics and Chemistry, which have a lot of syllabus overlap. However, it takes a lot of commitment, a well-thought-out PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths) study plan, concentrating on NCERT, and giving Math or Biology priority based on your primary interest because both exams require a lot of practice.
Thank you
Hello
Yes, it creates a problem if you're 12th LC(state OBC) and JEE(Central OBC/EWS) categories differ.
JoSAA requires a central OBC-NCL certificate for OBC reservation; since Karnataka OBC isn't central, you will be treated as general, or you can use a Declaration for OBC-to-General conversions from during counseling, but switching to EWS needs you to have applied as EWS initially. Your EWS certificate works if you meet the income criteria, but yes the important thing is Central OBC list for OBC, not state list.
