With a GMR of 24432 and a TFW rank of 5224, you do have a fair chance of getting a TFW seat in private colleges for ECE under WBJEE 2025. The availability of seats will mainly depend on how many TFW seats are offered in each college and how the cutoff goes in each round. Usually, popular private colleges with good placements like Heritage, IEM, Techno India (Salt Lake), and Narula tend to have higher cutoffs for TFW, so getting into the top ones may be a little tough. However, you should definitely get options in other reputed private colleges. I would suggest keeping track of the counselling rounds, because sometimes seats open up in the later rounds as well.
Yes, with a CMR of 2851 in OBC-B category, you definitely have a fair chance of getting admission in some of the lower-tier government engineering colleges in branches like CSE, IT, or ECE. However, getting these branches in top colleges will be tough because the cut-off for CSE/IT is usually much higher.
Still, if you are flexible with the college location and branch preference, you may get CSE/IT in a lesser-known government college or ECE in some mid-tier ones. My advice would be to keep your options open during counseling and also look at self-financing government-aided colleges, where chances are better with your rank.
Yes, you can.
Process:
You must register and fill choices in WBJEE counselling.
If allotted a TFW seat, you can withdraw from your previous admission (may lose the earlier admission fee unless refundable) and take admission in the new college under TFW.
Final decision depends on whether you are ready to leave the old seat and complete fresh admission formalities.
With a GMR of 42,000 in WBJEE and SC category, plus a TFW rank of 10,000, your chances for a TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) seat are quite low because TFW seats are very limited (only 5% of total seats) and are usually taken up by much lower TFW ranks (generally within 3k–5k for popular branches in government and top private colleges). However, being SC category does improve your chances for getting a seat under reservation in government or private colleges through GMR, but the TFW quota is allotted strictly by TFW rank, not category rank. So realistically, you may not secure a TFW seat, but you should still get admission through SC quota in lower/mid-tier private engineering colleges in WB.
You can't get a good cse college at this rank. Even if you take admission in some other college it would be just a waste of money. In that case I would suggest you to go for private colleges like Heritage Institute of Technology through management quota where you need to pay huge fees.
Other than cse branch you can consider different branches where admission is possible explore WBJEE CUTOFF to find exact options.
And if you dont want these colleges then try reappearing for the next year if you are not a dropper already.
Beat of luck.
