Careers360 writes Open Letter to CBSE Chairperson on scheduling another test for distressed JEE Main applicant

Updated on 08 Apr 2015, 11:14 AM IST

Careers360 had reported how JEE Main 2015 candidates were refused entry to their exam center after they reached 15-20 minute due to a wrong center address mentioned in their JEE Main admit card. We had also captured distress among the JEE Main applicants from Kashmir Valley who could not appearfor the exam on April 4 because of the unrelenting floods in the region and complete disruption of transportation modes.

Careers360 has now written an open letter to CBSE Chairperson Dr Satbir Bedi seeking affirmative action on giving another chance to JEE Main applicants who could not appear for JEE Main on April 4.

Open Letter to CBSE Chairperson

Date: 07/04/2015

To,

Dr. Satbir Bedi

Chairperson,

Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE)

Subject: Scheduling another test for distressed JEE Main applicants

Dear Madam,

I write to you on behalf of thousands of JEE Main applicants who could not appear for the exam on April 4, 2015 due to various reasons including cases where your office sent them wrong address in their Admit Card.

You must be aware that hundreds of JEE Main 2015 applicants had been stranded due to floods in different regions of Jammu and Kashmir and as a result they could not appear for this coveted Engineering exam held across different States and Union Territories on April 4.

This has shattered their dream to get admission into prestigious IITs, NITs and many other top Engineering institutes in India which admit students through JEE Main only.

Careers360 counseling team has received many distressed calls from JEE Main applicants belonging to the Kashmir Valley. The candidates, however, seek information whether CBSE is going to schedule any alternative test once the floods recede in the state. They hope to get another chance by CBSE to appear for JEE Main, which they missed due to the natural calamity that has hit the state for the past few days.

Further, in separate cases, many candidates at different exam centres were denied entry just because they reached late by about 15 minutes. This also includes a few cases where candidates reached the center late due to wrong address mentioned in their admit card. This is definitely a mistake on the part of CBSE officials who released their admit cards.

Careers360 has spotted two candidates, at a centre in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, who were not allowed to enter the exam venue on April 4. Later, we received many such calls on our counseling helpline. In the above mentioned case, both the candidates had wrong Pin Code mentioned in the Exam Centre address slot on their Admit Card. One of the candidates had incorrect address of the exam centre besides the wrong Pin Code. Due to an incorrect Pin Code mentioned in their Admit Card, both the candidates reached a different Kendriya Vidyalaya instead of the one where CBSE had actually scheduled their testing.

Admit Card image below shows the actual exam center against the wrong address marked in image below:

While we are highlighting just two instances here, there are several such unfortunate incidents that are going unnoticed. We believe that the candidates who could not appear in the exam due to such unwarranted last minute confusion must be given another chance to appear for the exam.

We also hope that giving such candidates another opportunity to appear for the JEE Main exam will be both logical and course-correction for CBSE. A fair chance given to these candidates will only enhance the credibility of CBSE as one of the most respected institutions which engages millions of students annually for their Senior Secondary, Higher Secondary and competitive entrance exam like JEE Main and AIPMT.

We look forward to an affirmative action on giving another chance to JEE Main applicants who could not appear for JEE Main on April 4.

Have a question related to JEE Main ?

Actually there is no JEE Mains cutoff for the M.Sc. Mathematics program at TIET as admission is based on academic record they take 40% based on your Class 12 marks and 60% from your ug marks where Mathematics is compulsary.you need overall aggregate of 60% in your graduation and no backlogs from the first two years to apply there.

If you need alternative you can consider institute like IITs, IISc, and NITs through the IIT JAM exam, or other reputable universities like GFTIs ,DTU and BITMesra where jee main closing rank for the General category was around 25,764.

Hope it helps..

Hello

JEE ke liye Hindi medium mein bhi bahut achhi books available hain.
Physics ke liye HC Verma aur DC Pandey (Hindi version) bahut madadgar hain.
Chemistry ke liye NCERT (Hindi), O.P. Tandon aur Modern’s ABC achhi hain.
Maths ke liye RD Sharma aur Cengage (Hindi edition) useful hoti hain.
In books se concepts easily samajh aate hain aur JEE ki strong tayari ho sakti hai.

Hello,

Yes, you can still try. LMNIT follows MCM (Merit-cum-Means) scholarships and also considers Central Govt. schemes for low-income + OBC students. If you couldn’t crack JEE, you won’t get B.Tech there, but you can try for admission in other programs (like Integrated/Applied Sciences, etc.) and then apply for scholarships. For B.Tech, the waiver is only applicable if you qualify JEE and get admission through JoSAA/CSAB. You can still apply for State Govt. Post-Matric Scholarship (OBC) and other schemes that fully cover fees if income is below 1L.

Thank you!

For JEE the total questions at 75 the subject are physics chemistry maths heat subject questions will have 25 questions will be there total marks for the each subject is 100 so fully  it's 300 each subject will have 20 MCQ questions 5 + mark for numerical based questions

If you are preparing for a JEE mains based on your school you should make your study list and completely focus on high weightage subject focus completely on practicing all the questions day by day attend a time based MCQ practice more than reading theory concentrate more on conceptual studies and beyond this you should have good sleep and you have to learn everything from a basic to advance
