  • Vernier callipers-its use to measure internal and external diameter and depth of a vessel.
  • Screw gauge-its use to determine thickness/ diameter of thin sheet/wire.
  • Simple Pendulum-dissipation of energy by plotting a graph between square of amplitude and time.
  • Metre Scale-mass of a given object by principle of moments.
  • Young's modulus of elasticity of the material of a metallic wire.
  • Surface tension of water by capillary rise and effect of detergents.

With a 90 percentile in the JEE Mains 2025, your chances of securing a seat in prestigious colleges like JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH) or VNR VJIET (Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology) depend on several factors such as your category (General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.), the specific branch you are targeting, and the annual cutoffs for these colleges.

For JNTUH , being one of the top engineering colleges in Telangana, the competition is fierce. Typically, for a general category student, the cutoff ranks for popular branches like Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) are much lower (i.e., require a higher percentile, often above 97-98). However, for less competitive branches, a 90 percentile may give you a chance, especially if you belong to a reserved category.

In the case of VNR VJIET , the cutoffs are slightly more lenient compared to JNTUH but still competitive. A 90 percentile might give you a fair chance of securing a seat, particularly if you're open to branches beyond CSE or ECE and belong to a reserved category.
