Each year, NTA releases certain mandatory JEE Mains exam day guidelines for students appearing in the JEE Main exam. While there are no strict rules beyond general requirements, candidates need to keep certain points in mind. Students can wear clothing of their choice, but items such as caps, scarves/stoles, or jewellery/metallic items are prohibited. Candidates should also not wear dark-coloured, heavy clothing, but stick to light clothing. Closed-toe sandals or shoes should also be avoided, as the centre officials can ask the candidate to remove the footwear. JEE Main 2026 Dress Code for Male Candidates

Male candidates appearing in JEE Main are advised to follow the JEE Main dress code 2026 for males on the day of the exam-

  • Candidates must not wear any clothing consisting of metallic items. Metallic items cause problems during frisking and must be avoided.

  • Students are not allowed to wear a cap/ muffler or any cloth over their heads.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

Students must follow the exam day guidelines of JEE Main 2026.

  • Students are advised to visit the exam venue one day before the exam date to know the route and travel time to avoid unavoidable conditions on exam day.

  • Students must reach the exam venue at least one hour in advance to avoid last-minute hassle.

  • Students must carry their JEE Main 2026 admit card along with one passport-size coloured photograph and a valid photo ID proof.

  • Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to appear in the exam without an admit card, a photograph, and a photo ID proof.
