Is Calculator Allowed in JEE Advanced 2026? - Candidates appearing for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination often have doubts regarding the use of calculators during the exam. As per the official information brochure, calculators are strictly prohibited inside the JEE Advanced 2026 hall. Therefore, candidates will not be allowed to carry calculators or any similar electronic devices to the test centre. IIT Roorkee will provide candidates with a scribble pad for rough work and calculations during the JEE Advanced exam. One scribble pad will be provided for each paper, and no additional scribble pads will be issued. The JEE Advanced 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 17, 2026, in computer-based test mode. Every year, around two lakh candidates register for the JEE Advanced examination after qualifying JEE Main.

Candidates are not allowed to carry any type of calculator in the examination. Each student will get one scribble pad for each test paper in the JEE Advanced exam. The scribber pad consists of a header to write down the candidate's name and JEE Advanced roll number. Students will not be allowed to get any extra scribber pads in the examination. Candidates will also not be allowed to take the scribber pad back home after the JEE Advanced 2026.

The following are the guidelines to be followed on the day of the JEE Advanced exam:
Candidates are required to carry a printout of the JEE Advanced admit card along with a valid ID proof. The valid ID should be any one of them: Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, or Notarised Certificate with a photograph.
Candidate’s identity will be verified at the time of verification at the exam centre. Students having discrepancies in their identity will not be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced exam.
Use of any unfair means in the examination will lead to the disqualification of the candidate from the JEE Advanced exam and related admission process.
Candidates are required to carry pens, pencils, water in a transparent bottle, a printout of the admit card, and an original photo ID to the examination hall.
Candidates should report at the examination centre in advance to complete all the verification and formalities before.
