List of IITs in India

Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)

1. Is IIT a government college?

The Indian Institutes of Technology are an autonomous public technical and research university located in India. They are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 which has declared them as institutions of national importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance.

2. Is it difficult to get into the IITs?

This a vague question because it depends on the candidate and their merit as well. In 2014, 13.6 lakhs students sat for the IIT-JEE exams and only 9,784 seats were available in all the IITs put together. That's an acceptance rate of only 0.7 per cent. Even though the IIT-JEE exam is extremely tough, the number of aspirants keeps on increasing every year.

3. Do all IIT students get a job?

Not every IITian leaves the campus with a job offer. A country where a bunch of engineers are graduating every year it's hard for even the top institutions to guarantee 100 per cent placements.

4. Is IIT free of cost after JEE?

No, candidates need to pay the IIT admission fees.

5. Which IIT has lowest fees?

IIT Kharagpur has the lowest fees out of all the IITs, the semester-wise fee ranges around 86–89k.

6. Can we join IIT without JEE?

No, it is compulsory to qualify the JEE Advanced for admission to the IITs.

Questions related to JEE Advanced

Have a question related to JEE Advanced ?

Hello,
My name is Ayush kushwah, I am an IITian and I have been making my students prepare for  JEE for the last 5 years, being a teacher I would like to give you some advice that will be helpful for you in JEE preparation.

1. First of all, make a timetable and manage your time accordingly. While making the timetable, remember that time has been given for each chapter, and then make your entire routine accordingly.

2. First of all, make small goals like how much time you have to give on a  topic or how much time you have to cover an entire chapter, then concentrate completely on doing it and you can do this according to the subject.

3. The most important thing for the JEE exam is the right guidance which is very difficult to get, so as you know you do not have much time for JEE exam, then I would say from my experience that you can go towards online learning.

4  PRACTICE IS KEY OF SUCCESS Take care of your practice, just solving the doubt will not work, you will have to practice it also.

5  Now if you go towards online learning then you will have to choose the right platform which is quite difficult because there are countless platforms in the market but if you ask me for my opinion then I will suggest ARIVIHAN APPLICATION which is my 5 One experience of the year brought me the best.

You will get all the necessary things for a JEE  student in it and here is the only platform which provides so many facilities at the best price in the market, from what to do according to the timetable to practice in ARIVIHAN You will get all the facilities.

You can try this app once.

For SC (Scheduled Caste) candidates, the cutoff percentile in JEE Main to qualify for JEE Advanced can vary each year based on the number of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, and other factors. However, in recent years, the cutoff percentile for SC candidates has generally been around 50-55 percentile.

For a more accurate and up-to-date figure, it's best to check the official JEE Main website or the latest notifications from the National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducts the exam.

JEE Advanced mein ST category mein 1216 rank ke saath, aapko kuch acche NITs, IIITs aur GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) mein admission mil sakta hai. Hello,

The weight of CO2 obtained by the complete combustion of 480g carbon is calculated as follows:

1. Atomic weight of carbon (C) = 12 g/mol

2. Moles of carbon = 480 g / 12 g/mol = 40 moles

3. Molecular weight of CO2= 44 g/mol

4. Weight of CO2= 40 moles * 44 g/mol = 1760 g

Therefore, the weight of CO2 obtained is 1760 grams.

Hope this helps,

Thank you
