Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay: The government of India established the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1958. Not every IITian leaves the campus with a job offer. A country where a bunch of engineers are graduating every year it's hard for even the top institutions to guarantee 100 per cent placements.
Q: Is it difficult to get into the IITs?

This a vague question because it depends on the candidate and their merit as well. In 2014, 13.6 lakhs students sat for the IIT-JEE exams and only 9,784 seats were available in all the IITs put together. That's an acceptance rate of only 0.7 per cent. Even though the IIT-JEE exam is extremely tough, the number of aspirants keeps on increasing every year.
