QnA related to IISER Aptitude Test

Ask your question related to IISER Aptitude Test

Hello aspirant,

Applicants must take either the JEE Main or JEE Advanced exam in order to be considered for admission to the best engineering institutes in India. JEE Advanced and Main are administered by separate bodies. Because the JEE Advanced exam is more difficult than the JEE Main exam, candidates who are prepared for it have an advantage.

To know the complete preparation strategies, you can visit our website by clicking on the link given below.

Hope this information helps you.

Hello reader,

Last year that is 2023 around 9.5 lakh students attempted for jee mains round one, while 8.6 lakh students attempted for jee mains round two. Across both the sessions around 12 lakh students sat for the jee mains exam in year 2023.

Hey there,

Which exam are you talking about? Please provide the proper information in your question so that we can help you with your query.

Since I found your question in the Engineering section, I guess you are asking about the engineering exam (JEE Exam). Let me tell you about the JEE exam:

Through the JEE exam, you can access all the undergraduate courses in the engineering domain. You can get admission into engineering courses like B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication, B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech in Civil Engineering, and many more. This exam allows you to get admission into the top engineering colleges in India like IITs, NITs, GFTIs, etc.

I hope this information helps you. If you need more information about anything, please share your queries with us.

Hi there,

Hope you are healthy and doing well.

At this rank in the iiser examination, you can not get admission in any top engineering colleges but can get the admission in some lower level institutes.

Also you can know about the previous year cutoffs and the opening and closing ranks required to get admission in a certain college. It will provide you with a strong idea regarding the examination and the colleges that you can get at this rank.

You can take the help from our official website where you can get all the necessary details related to the counselling and the examination and the colleges which you can get at a certain rank.

The link of the site is mentioned below:

Hope this resolves your query.

Hello student,

With an OBC category rank of 2345 in JEE Main, you have a good chance of getting into several top NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs (Government-Funded Technical Institutes). The exact college and branch you can get will depend on various factors such as the cutoffs for that year, your home state, and the specific branch you are interested in.

I would recommend you to use JEE college predictor tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

Here is the link to the tool:

Hello aspirant,

Under the Ministry of Education, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER Pune) was founded in 2006. The designation of Institute of National Importance has been bestowed upon the institute. There are undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate courses available at IISER Pune. Undergraduate students in the science stream can enrol in BS-MS dual degree programmes offered by IISER Pune. IISER offers three different M.Sc. programmes at the postgraduate level.

For more information you can visit our website by clicking on the link given below.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

Hello Kuldip,

There are three ways through which one can get into IISERs.

METHOD 1: Through KVPY

All the students who have secured a rank in KVPY are eligible for this program. The students will be shortlisted on the basis of their ranks.

Application Dates: 11 September to 15 September

METHOD 2: Through JEE Advanced

A JEE Advance rank of 15000 (for General candidates) and less will be enough for getting into an IISER. However, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their ranks here as well.

Application Dates: 11 September to 15 September

METHOD 3: Through IISER Aptitude Test (IAT)

The maximum number of students are admitted through this method. The exam has already been conducted for the year 2022. The toughness of this entrance exam is more or less similar to JEE/NEET.

A rank of 452 in the IAT exam is considered to be a great rank. You will be eligible for all the IISERs at this rank. Maybe not in the first round but by the end of 2nd or last round you will be eligible for all the IISERs according to my PREDICTION.

LIST OF COLLEGES AT YOUR RANK:

  1. IISER Pune
  2. IISER Mohali
  3. IISER Bhopal
  4. IISER Kolkata
  5. IISER TVM
  6. IISER Tirupati
  7. IISER Behrampur

Dear Aspirant,

IISER Aptitude test is conducted every year and is one of the main channel of admission into IISERs.

The difficulty level of the examination is similar to JEE/ NEET exams and one can prepare for it whe preparing for the other competitive examinations.

For all subjects please refer to NCERT first to clear your concepts and then move on to the following reference books

For inorganic chemistry and biology focus only on NCERT.

MATH - Cengage/ Arihant publication series for concepts

Physics - H C Verma, solve every question of every chapter

Organic chemistry - Refer to  O P Tandon for questions and tricky concepts

Physical chemistry - Refer to P Bahadur

You can refer to YouTube videos for getting a better idea of concepts whenever you have doubts

If you haven't done math/biology in your class 11 / 12, it's alright. Focus on revising easy topics from NCERT before the exam.

The exam is out of 180 and if you get above 110, you should be in a really good spot to get a seat in IISER.

Hope this helps.

Hi this is Bhukya Agnesh.  I from  khammam Telangana now 2 year MPC [Eamcet]

Dear Aspirant,

It is not easy to predict the exact cutoff and admission situation as it depends on a lot of unpredictable factors like the number of students attempting the exam, the preferences of the students and the seat matrix of the college.

There are about 1700 seats in IISERs and about 1300 are reserved for IAT Candidates and in this about 130 seats are reserved for EWS candidates.

Looking at this we can say that you have a good chance of getting into IISER Tirupati and Berhampur and a small chance of getting into IISER Mohali or Thiruvananthapuram.

Please check the link below for more details on the cutoffs.

Hope this helps.
