When it comes to preparing using the right books, candidates often get confused by looking at the vast variety of available books in the market. Selecting the best books in such a case becomes difficult. We would therefore suggest that candidates check the following criteria before purchasing the IISER 2025 books.
Easy to understand- The objective of purchasing reference books is to understand the concepts/topics in detail and with ease. The concepts should be explained in an easy-to-understand language. The candidate should be able to grasp all the information that the author is trying to convey. Candidates should check the reviews online or visit the market to check for themselves.
Cover the entire syllabus- Candidates should check for books that cover the entire syllabus. The books are the starting point in the preparation process. It is required to understand, retain and produce all that one can understand from the books and other preparation resources. Thus the books must include all the topics that are essential for the IISER aptitude test.
Practice questions- it is important for the students to select books that offer multiple practice questions, solved examples, chapter-wise questions etc. The more practice the candidates get, the reduced chances of errors and thus better results.
Along with using the best books for IISER 2025, candidates should make use of additional resources that will strengthen their preparations.
IISER 2025 Syllabus- It is expected that the students have thoroughly read the IISER 2025 syllabus. Without reading and understanding the syllabus, candidates will have no information about what topics are to be studied, how to plan their schedule, what books to buy, etc. It is therefore important to download and read the syllabus before starting the preparations.
IISER 2025 Exam Pattern- The next step is to be familiar with the exam pattern. It provides information about the number of questions, the types of questions, and the marking scheme of IAT.
IISER Sample Paper- The candidate must practice multiple sample papers to get accustomed to the time limit, types of questions, number of questions, etc. As they practice more questions they also get a sense of the improvement areas. They can then revise those topics in which they faced difficulties while answering.

Hello,
If you have uploaded the old EWS certificate (2024–2025) instead of the new one (2025–2026), there is a chance that it may not be accepted, as the IISER notification clearly asks for the valid and updated EWS certificate for the year 2025–2026.
Right now, if the correction window is closed, you won’t be able to change it. But don’t worry too much. Once the results are out and before the counselling starts (before 16 June), there is usually a document verification process. You may get a chance to upload the correct and updated certificate during that time.
Just make sure you get the 2025–2026 EWS certificate ready as soon as possible, so if they allow updates before counselling, you can upload the correct one.
Hope it helps !
Hello,
If you have selected OBC-NCL category and uploaded a Central OBC-NCL certificate , then there is no issue .
IISER accepts Central OBC-NCL certificate , as long as it is valid and issued by a competent authority. Just make sure the certificate is:
Issued within one year from the application date.
Clearly mentions OBC-NCL and your caste is in the central list .
If these points are okay, then your form is fine.
Hope it helps !
Hello aspirant,
Applicants must take either the JEE Main or JEE Advanced exam in order to be considered for admission to the best engineering institutes in India. JEE Advanced and Main are administered by separate bodies. Because the JEE Advanced exam is more difficult than the JEE Main exam, candidates who are prepared for it have an advantage.
